"Now, now come along Elvira."

"We don't want to keep the Blacks waiting." Teresa Auclair spoke as she dragged her daughter towards the house.

Elvira gulped and fiddled with the hem of her dress.

This was the first time she was supposed to meet Sirius and Regulus, and well, she never was quite good at any social interaction.

Well, how could she be. Her family had kept her imprisoned in the gates of their family manor for the first 7 years of her life.

So this was really the first time she would be talking to anybody besides her family, the brunette thought that she had a right to be nervous.

"Now, remember what we talked about Elvira." Her mother said, breaking the girl from her thoughts.

Elvira nodded as the familiar words came back into her mind.

"Be polite and smile."

"Precisely." Her mother said as the two walked up the steps.

Teresa knocked on the door as Elvira fixed her posture so she was standing up even more straight.

A raven haired women answered the door.

"Teresa." The women spoke with a smile.

"Walburga." Her mother said as the two women embraced each other.

"And where is Thomas?" Walburga asked as they pulled apart.

"Oh, he was busy with work. Y'know how things are at the ministry."

Walburga hummed in agreement.

She then turned and looked Elvira directly in the eyes.

"And you my dear must be Elvira?"

Elvira cowered a little under the women's cold, hard stare.

But she had to admit, the women was quite beautiful.

Her raven hair was pulled back into an up do bun, accentuating her very sharp and defined cheek bones and jawline. She also had some of the most beautiful eyes Elvira had ever seen. They were a steel grey with blue flecks in the center of her iris.

"Yes, I am, and it is a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Black." Elvira said with a small curtesy.

Walburga laughed in amusement.

"You've got some good manners dear. Teresa you have clearly raised her right."

"Mhm, I tried."

"Well, please do come in." Walburga said while moving to the side.

The Auclairs walked into the home and Elvira took in the surroundings.

The home was much more dull and grey then she would have expected.

"Sirius! Regulus!" The women called.

"We have guests!"

"Coming mother!" A boy shouted back.

"Yeah, yeah coming!" Another boy shouted back.

Walburga rolled her eyes at the sound of the second boy.

"Excuse my eldest, Sirius. Unfortunately the boy has no manners."

"Oh that's fine Walburga, I'm sure Elvira doesn't mind." Teresa said as she looked down at her daughter.

Elvira shook her head in response and stared at the stairs in anticipation.

First a younger boy came down, followed by another one.

They both looked very similar excerpt for one of them looked a bit older.

"Teresa, Elvira, these are my sons Regulus and Sirius." Walburga said as she placed a hand on each of their shoulders.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both." Elvira said as she stuck out her hand.

The older boy smirked in amusement as he shook her hand. She presumed this boy was Sirius and the other Regulus.

"Well, my dear, how about we leave you three alone." Teresa suggested.

"Yes, I think that's a good idea. How about you boys show Elvira the library. Your mother mentioned that you enjoy reading." Walburga said as she looked down at the girl.

Elvira's face lit up.

"Yes, I think that would be lovely."

"Sirius." Walburga called out.

The boy sighed and said,

"Follow me."

The trio then left the two elder women on the bottom floor.

Elvira followed Sirius and Regulus, as Sirius opened the door.

"Welp this is it." He said unamused.

Meanwhile Elvira stared at the rows and rows of books in amazement.

She picked up a book from the shelf and skimmed the pages.

"It's lovely." She said as she looked back up at him.

He shrugged and said,

"It's alright."

"I'm not one for reading, that's Reggie's job." Sirius said with a laugh as she looked at his younger brother.

Regulus blushed in embarrassment as he stared at the older girl.

"Well Regulus do you have any suggestions on what books I could read from this library?"

Regulus gulped and pointed to one of the farther shelves.

"Those are the good ones."

Elvira hummed and she went over to the shelf and grabbed another book.

She didn't recognize the authors of any of them.

"Wait a minute, are these muggle books?" She asked as she turned around.

Sirius cringed hoping that the girl wouldn't say anything to their mother, knowing that his little brother would get in trouble.

Regulus gulped and nodded nervously.

Elvira smiled and laughed a little.

"I was never aware that Pureblood library's could have muggle books. Mine doesn't."

"Yeah, mother just finds them and shows them to us so that we know what not to read." Sirius said with a grin.

Elvira locked eyes with the boy for a moment before lookin back at the book.

"Well, I've always been fascinated by muggle books."

"Yes, you must read them. They're very interesting." Regulus said as he sat on the chairs desk.

"Perhaps I will. Do you mind if I take this one?"

"Not at all." Regulus said with a smile.

Sirius laughed.

"I don't know how you two can get so excited about boring stuff like this."

"Hey! It's not boring." Regulus said defensively.

"Whatever you say Reg."

"Sirius, I agree with your brother. None of this is boring." Elvira spoke up.

Sirius shrugged as he looked at the book the girl was holding.

"Well, it is to me."

"Well perhaps, you're not finding the joy in little things." Elvira said as she locked eyes with the boy again.

"Well then, Miss Auclair, perhaps you could show me?"

"Perhaps I will."

And boy, little did Sirius Black know that Elvira Auclair would make due on that promise.
