I put on my short and puffy, sparkly maroon dress and did my hair and makeup extra special.

"Your friends are here!" yelled my mom.

I came down and saw Jennie and Jisoo. Jisoo wore a tight, black dress. Jennie on the other hand, wore a short but puffy, sparkly, lavender dress.

"You guys look great," I said.

"You do too," said Jisoo.

I sat in the front seat of Jennie's car while Jisoo sat in the back.

I put my hand on her shoulder, "you look beautiful."

"Oh Roseanne, you're going to make me cry, you are so sweet. I love you," she said.

I smiled knowing how happy a simple compliment from me made her.

We arrived at the park where we were supposed to meet the boys.

"Roseanne, this is Jimin," she said as a brunette with glasses approached us.

"I'm Roseanne," I said.

"Nice to meet you," he said.

"Taehyung!" she squealed and jumped into his arms for a kiss. I wanted to throw up.

We all took pictures of all sorts. Lots of group photos, some photos of just us girls, one of me and each of my best friends, and solo shots with our dates.

Afterwards, we went to Olive Garden for dinner before the dance.

I sat in between Jimin and Jennie but regretted it instantly after having to hear her constantly swoon over Taehyung.

"So, where do you plan on going to college?" asked Jimin.

"Seoul National University," I said.

"Cool me too, any idea of what you want to study?" he asked.

"Microbiology," I said.

"Nice, I'm going for pre-med myself."

He was literally Jennie in boy form, even looked like her a little bit. But, he isn't female.

When we got to the dance, we all gravitated towards the middle with our dates and we danced the night away. I kept looking over at Jennie grinding all over Taehyung.

"You like her, don't you?" Jimin interrupted my staring.

"What?"

"I can tell by the way you look at her," he said.

"Is it that obvious?" I asked while face palming.

He chuckled, "not to most people, but I'm very good at reading people."

"You're good," I said, "I like you, but platonically."

"Hey, if you want to be friends, I'm cool with that," he said.

"I'd like that," I said.

For the rest of the night, we talked and got to know each other. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't see him more than just a friend. I just couldn't bring myself to be attracted to a guy. I had a crush on my best friend and there's nothing I could do about it.
