A Small Town Girl and A City Boy

Chapter 1 - New Job

Katie walked into the BAU building wearing black skinny jeans white teeshirt with a lather jacket and the hunting boots she's had since she was seventeen. She saw someone with blonde hair who looked like someone she would get along with very well.

" 'ello." Katie says with her thick Georgia accent.

"Hello you must be the new Agent Katie Marie." She says looking at her folder.

"Yes ma'am I am. And you must be Agent Jeroue." Katie says holding out her hand.

"You must be nervous since it's your first day but there is no need to be the team will love you. Oh, and call me JJ." JJ tells Katie shaking her hand. "Let's take you to Agent Hotchner so you can get your badge and gun." Katie and JJ walked through the bullpen to Hotch's office and knocked.

"Enter." Said a gruff yet gentle voice. Katie walked in.

"Hi sir. We talked yesterday I'm the new agent. I was suppose to meet with ya today so I could get my badge and gun." Katie said carefully making sure she didn't say anything wrong.

"Oh, yes Agent Marie. How are you doing today?" Hotch asked standing up to shake Katie's hand.

"I'm doin' good sir. I'm ready to start workin' that's for sure." Katie says with a chuckle.

"You have quite an accent. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking." Hotch asks as he grabs Katie's gun and badge. Hotch already knew but he wanted to make Katie feel comfortable and welcome as she would be working with him and the team for an unknown amount of time.

"I'm from a small town in Georgia called Macon sir." Katie says smiling as she strapped her gun to her hip and her badge next to it.

Hotch smiled a bit at being called sir. "Call me Hotch. Let's go introduce you to the rest of the team." He says as he walks around his desk and opens the door.

"Thank ya si- I mean Hotch." Katie says walking out to see everyone else on the team looking at her. Katie puts her head down scared of what people will think of a small town girl with a accent that anyone can tell is out of place.

"Everyone this is Special Agent Katie Marie she is joining our team in place of Emily." Hotch says gesturing to Katie.

"Derek Morgan, Sweetheart." Morgan says.
"Katie Marie. Pleasure." Katie says shocking everyone.

"Wow. That's one accent you got. Where are you from?" Morgan asks.

"Georgia. I have an accent like both of ma big brothers." Katie says with a big smile thinking about Daryl and Meryl. When Katie got into High School Merle stopped drinking and doing drugs and got a job on the Police force and got a house. Daryl owns a motorcycle shop and lives in a cabin out on the edge of the forest so he could hunt as much as he wanted.

"Emily Prentiss. I'm the agent you are going to be replacing." Says a woman with dark brown hair. Katie shook Emily's hand and everyone continued introducing themselves.

"David Rossi. Where in Georgia are you from?" Asks a forty year old Italian man with salt and pepper hair and a well groomed beard.

"Macon Georgia. It's a small town of maybe thirty thousand people and most of them are rednecks." Katie says chuckling. "And who are you handsome?" Katie asks the youngest of the team. He had short brown hair and chocolate brown eyes that had dark circles that made it look like he didn't sleep.

"Uh, Doc-Doctor S-Spencer Reid." He nervously as he licks his lip nervous meeting this Georgia beauty that looks no more than twenty-three years old.

"Katie Marie. It's a pleasure to meet you." Katie says holding out her hand to shake Spencer's.

"I don't shake hands sorry." Spencer says with a shy smile. Katie says it's all good and when she turns around she sees a plump lady with blonde hair and pink streaks wearing a strawberry dress with red heels and red jewelry with fire engine red lipstick.

"I'm Penelope Garcia I'm the tech goddess here." She says with a wide smile

"I'm Katie Marie I'm the new agent. It's nice to meet you ma'am." Katie says holding her hand out. Garcia shakes her head and hugs Katie shocking her.

"Don't call me ma'am." Garcia says sternly.
"Can I call you sugar then?" Katie asks showing a smile that would brighten anyone's day.

Spencer couldn't stop looking at Katie bewildered how anyone can be this beautiful, with a rare combination of brown hair and baby blue eyes that you could get lost in.

"We have a case!" Hotch calls out to the team. Everyone got to the 'Round Table' room and sat down. "Okay so I was called personally by the police department of New York City saying that they have a serial killer that makes Jack The Ripper look nice. Their words not mine. The jet takes off in ten, any since we don't have and files to go over we can get to know our new team member more since I know you all want too." Hotch said looking at everyone before going towards his office to grab his over night bag while the rest of the team went to their respective desks and grabbed theirs.

Katie was thankful that she had packed one and put it in her car for when she gets called on her first case which just so happened to be sooner then she had hoped.

(A/N- Hello Walking Dead and/or Criminal Minds fans!! This (as you can see) is a crossover that I am calling 'Criminal Dead' I don't know if that is a thing on here but I have been playing with this in my head and I thought I should share this. I also want to say there will be no apocalypse but, there will be characters from the show. (The governor will be a bad guy don't worry and so will the Terminus termites.) If you have any questions about the book or if you don't follow one of the shows message me and I'll do my best to answer.

Spencer in this books hair will be like in season six after when he had the boy band hair. I also changed up Daryl and Merle (not to much) as you could see but it'll all make since later on.
