     "Lance...what the hell are you----"

     "How's the room? Do you like it?"

      Narinig ni Darius ang nakakalokong tawa ng pinsan sa kabilang linya. They were inside the bar earlier because it's his birthday. After they shared small talks over a bottle of whiskey, Lance told him to chill out in a hotel, watch adult movie while sipping an ice cold beer.  Akala niya silang dalawa ang magpapalamig ngunit nagkamali siya. Lance just dropped him at the hotel and rushed away like a wind. He received a text from him. It contained the room number his cousin booked for him. He hissed and shook his head. Then, he headed straight to the receptionist and asked for the key card.

      "Well...it's nice," maikling pakli ni Darius nang makapasok sa silid.

      "It's your birthday bro, so enjoy. By the way, I set you on a blind date today. She'll be arriving soon."

      "What the -----"

      "Oppss!!! Well see if you gonna kick my ass after you met her," Lance said laughing.

      "Dammit Lance, aalis na ako dito. "

     ."Hey! hey! hey! Wag mo yang gawin. Listen to me, the girl you will be meeting is incredible.  Sabi mo nga kanina diba, nanlamig ka na kay Victoria. Pinsan naman, ngayon lang naman kita sinet-up ng ganito-----"

      "You're not setting up a blind date, you're setting up a one night affair," bulalas ni Darius na nagpalakadlakad sa loob ng silid. He's checking out if the room is wiretapped or has hidden cameras.

      "Hahaha! No! No not really. I'm sorry but it's up to you if you make it a one night affair."

      "This is bullshit! I'm too old for this."

       "Yes, you're forty-five years old but you kick'en like a twenty-five years old."

        "Humanda ka sa kin pag nakita kitang ulol ka. I'm gonna wait that woman for thirty minutes. Kapag walang papasok sa silid na ito, I will lock it and I'm gonna sleep and snore here till breaking dawn."

      "Okay-okay. Enjoy! By the way, para hindi ka ma-boring mag-antay dyan uminom ka ng whiskey. May ipinahanda ako."

    
      "Thanks but no thanks!"

       "Thank you!"

        Nakangiting wika ni Marjorie sa taxi driver na naghatid sa kaniya sa isa sa mga hotel sa Manhattan sabay abot sa pamasahe. She got off from the taxi with a haggard face. It was past ten o'clock in the evening when she finally reached the hotel where she booked for three days. Naroon siya sa Manhattan upang maghanap ng trabaho. She resigned to her last job because she couldn't be able to move on if she remains there. Isang buwan na ang lumipas mula ng magbreak sila ng boyfriend niyang si Calvin. And this time, he had his new girlfriend. Ang saklap pa ay nakasama rin nila sa trabaho ang babae.  Kaya para kay Marjorie, nakaka-suffocate na ang atmospera doon. She needed to flee and gasp some fresh air to invigorate her system. That's why she decided to quit her job and moved away.

      Ikalawang araw na niya ngayon sa Manhattan para magjob hunt. She applied five advertising agencies already. Lahat ng iyon ay iisa lang ang sinabi, tatawagan lang daw siya after two days.
