Clouds like cotton occupy the dark night sky, standing out from the lightest gray tones to the darkest. Strange clouds that at times hide the clarity provided by the distant moon every night. Some visible stars give a more familiar appearance to that view. Years ago I delighted to see the rough sky captivated by small distant points similar to glitter on a black surface; it was relaxing and hopeful. So pleasant was the memory, that I forgot where I was; I forgot the cold wind bristling my bare skin, the hard and mossy surface under my bare feet, the cliff in front of me and traveled through the most memorable memories of my childhood, those that I shared with people who are no longer there, and that caused smiles that are now non-existent.

I fixed my eyes on the horizon, where a thin and almost invisible line divides the blackness of the sky barely illuminated tenuously by the moonlight hidden by the clouds and the immense gloom of the face of the waters and its murderous waves waiting for the moment to drag me to the depths.

My body trembles, not knowing if it is due to the cold of the night or the nervousness of being about to perform that act.

The thunderous sound of the waves hitting the gigantic sharp rocks that rest on the shore and the rubbing of the dry branches of nearby trees, provide the perfect setting for a horror movie from the 90's.

I tried to move forward, but my feet are fixed to the slippery ground. Then I understood that sight had aroused fear in me and prevented me from fulfilling my end. The minutes were eternal until I was able to get close enough to the edge; to the fearsome and so desired end.

Taking the last breath, I propelled my body forward feeling that the fall was fast compared to the time standing on the shore. Received by the cold waters, my body balanced back and forth to the rhythm of the waves until the air was torn from my lungs in a violent shock causing them to fill with water. An intense burning took hold of my nose and throat in an attempt to get back the air, while my body twisted desperately and my life vanished.
