Kara Is Supergirl. The earth shattering, indisputable truth that everyone she knows has been lying to her for the past two years. She couldn't believe it, wouldn't believe it. So she drove herself to Kara's apartment, she needed to know from the source if it was true or not. She texted kara on the way asking her to come outside. she didn't think she could do this if she was in the apartment that her walls had broken down in, or on the couch they had spent so many false nights on together. Kara was waiting outside by the time she pulled up, she got out of her car to talk to her.

"Is it true," Lena spoke stone cold.

"is what true", Kara said As her smile upon see Lena quickly faded as the question was asked into a look of confusion and worry.

"Oh don't play koy, Lex told me everything." Lena's facade of uncaring faltered as she said Lex's name. Lex, her brother, the only person who gave a damn about her for so many years, lex who she just killed to protect her friends, her poor helpless superhero friends.

"Lex?" Kara paused puzzled for a moment "But he's dead."

"Is it true? Are you supergirl?" Lena repeated her question.

"Yes"
And with one simple word her world came crashing down around her. She turned to get back in her car, not bothering to listen to karas attempts to justify why she built the Prison of lies to keep Lena out, she already knew, it was The exact thing Kara had convinced her that she would never use against her, her last name.

She shouldn't drive like this, she knows she shouldn't, but she does anyway. There is no other option really she could call a taxi. God, the media would have a field day with that, Lena Luther seen getting in the back of a taxi cab, distraught after nefarious plan gone wrong, it doesn't matter if it's true or not, its Lena, she's always been a ticking time bomb. So she drives herself Home anyway, no where else for her to go, she manages not to accidentally wrap a self around a tree, or on purpose for that matter.

First thing she does is instruct the doorman, no visitors until further notice, the last thing she wants is one of the so-called super friends coming round in the morning to give her a peptalk. She doesn't think she could handle having to plaster on a fake smile and pretend her world hasn't fallen apart around her.

When she gets inside her apartment, she did what she would do any other day. After all Lilian always said "you must always put on your best face, even if there is no one around to see it." Of course in this moment, her Lowest point, it would be Lillians words to go through her head. The woman she'd worked so hard to make a name for not being. And yet here she was back where she started, no friends, City against her, maybe she should call up Sam, the last stable relationship she has, burn all her bridges at once. Not that she'll even have her for much longer. No doubt when the super friends contact her she'll take their side, just like everyone else.

Now in her pyjamas, she should probably get some food. When was the last time she ate, she'd skipped breakfast, hadn't bothered with lunch, did she even have dinner yesterday. She must be starving but somehow she doesn't seem to care, as if all of the rest of the bodily functions shutdown to focus on right now, on The fact that all of her friends trust her so little they've been lying to her since they met.

She pulled the plate from the shelf they kept not noticing the small one on top, and as it fell to the floor the world slowed down for a moment, that sense of helplessness she'd been feeling all day rearing its head again as the plate smashed to the ground. A shard bounced back up, slicing through her delicate skin. Lena stood there as a drop of bright red blood started to drip from her leg. She probably deserved it she thought to herself, she probably deserves far worse, there must be a reason why people keep distancing themselves from her. She's always blamed her last name but kara never cared about that, no, this one is on Lena there must've been a reason, a moment that scared kara off, made sure she would always keep her at arms length. There had to be or Lena wouldn't be able to do this anymore. If people just decide Lena is wrong she wouldn't be able to fix it, to fix herself. She stared at the blood that's now made its way to the floor, just a crimson red trail down her leg, proof of her one fatal flaw, her humanity.

She puts the plate down on the side, leaving the plate shards across the floor, deciding she's not really hungry anyway and goes to the bathroom, not bothering to clean up the blood or care if she's leaving prints over the carpet, she stared at the Mirror, at herself, but the woman looking back was a stranger, a woman from a dream she had long ago, no signs of the day she's had other than a few loose strands of black hair and the worry lines at the edges of her eyes. It almost made her laugh how normal she looked. She wasn't a God, she wasn't a hero, she was just... Lena.

She walked back to the kitchen, still not caring about the blood now drying against her leg. She grabbed the scotch she kept for a rainy day, she didn't even bother with the glass just sat on the couch and drank. Imagine what your mother would say if she saw you now, she thought to herself. That five-year-old off to a life of luxury, who would want for nothing. She wished she could see her now, the drunk who can't keep a friend if her live depended on it and, quite often, it did.

She woke up to hell being raised downstairs in the morning. At least she thinks this morning. It's Alex, it seems she's pushed past the doorman, "all the good he did" she thinks sarcastically, and is now banging on the door as security attempts to remove her. Not wanting Alex to injure the guards she gets up and cracks the door open enough to dismiss the guards and for Alex to stop telling them to piss off.

"Lena," Alex started but was quickly cut of by the door being slammed in her face. "Lena, please come out and talk to me."

"There is nothing to say" lena said curtly.

"Lena, no one wanted to lie to you." Alex said.

"oh so you accidentally all lied to me for three years, thanks all better. Just go someplace your wanted because you aren't here." Lena said harshly.

"Lena, please, if it isn't me today, it will be Kara tomorrow and I know you wouldn't want that" Alex spoke. "I brought lunch."

As much as Lena didn't want to let Alex in, she knew seeing Kara would be 10 times worse and she really did need the food. So she unlock the door and let her in.

Alex looked her up and down, so sympathetically Lena wanted to slam the door and kick Alex right back out. In a rush to stop Alex from harming the Guardsman, she had neglected to realise her leg was still cake in blood and she was now covered in alcohol stains she looked a wreck. Lilians words echoed through her head again, it didn't go unnoticed to Lena this is exactly what she tried to avoid and somehow made it so much worse. But then Alex did the last thing She expected her to do, she hugged her, "I'm so sorry," Alex whispered, " it was never meant to be this way."
