I sat in Professor Smith's math class minding my own business, he was going over something that I had already done. There was really no point in me paying attention. I was sitting near the front of the class due to me having to wear reading glasses and forgetting them half the time. There wasn't really a window near me so I didn't have much to look at. The only thing around me was the other rows of desks and then the teachers desk in front. He was one of those teachers that liked his desk being front and center, where he could see everyone equally.

Professor Smith wasn't much of a decorator, the only posters in his room being about math and then just one kitten poster hung up that read 'hang in there'. The cat was hanging from a branch, Sasha thinks it's the greatest thing in the world.

I pulled out the book I was currently reading for my biology class, well not so much as to read it, more like flip through the pages looking at the photos. As much as I enjoy reading, textbooks are quite boring. I had just gotten this book, Oceanography and Marine Biology. I was very excited to go to that class. Unfortunately, math came first.

I was pulled out of my trance of looking at the book and thinking by the professor calling my name. Professor Smith is a big guy, he would be super intimidating if he didn't make dad jokes constantly. He lost his right arm in a car accident a while ago. It was one of the first things he told us due to someone very rudely pointing it out. He has blonde hair and very bushy eyebrows. He is always put together with his hair done, I have never seen him just thrown together or in a rush.

"Armin Arlert? Right?" He looked at me and I nodded. Nervous about what he was going to say. "Can you come up here please?"

I stood up and made my way to his desk. It wasn't until then that I noticed another student up there with him. I hadn't paid much attention to the other students in class other than my desk mate. That was only because they would be my partner from now on though.

The boy had long brown hair pulled up into a bun. He was wearing black ripped jeans and a thrasher hoodie. He had rings on almost every finger and a couple of ear piercings. I made eye contact for a brief moment and I couldn't help but try to get lost in his green eyes. They reminded me of a forest that you could wander in and get lost forever. Never being found.

"Armin, This is Eren Jaeger." Professor Smith introduced us. " He is currently looking for a tutor for this math class. You seem to know what you are doing, so I wanted to see if you were interested. I am about to dismiss the class, but you two are more than welcome to stay a moment and talk everything over."

He dismissed the class and everyone rushed out of there. I motioned for Eren to follow me to my desk and he did. When the class was mostly empty I started the conversation. Eren seemed a little nervous, he doesn't seem like the type to ask for help.

"So, Eren, you need a tutor?" He nodded his head with a small tint of pink on his cheeks.

"Yeah. I'm struggling a little to understand everything. It's only 2 months into school. I don't know how I'll survive all year."

"Is it just this class? I don't think we have any other classes that overlap. Your major is criminal justice right?" He looked up at me in shock.

"How did you know that? Do we know each other?" I laughed at him. I didn't expect him to be dense. "What's so funny?"

"I'm sorry. It's just, you have quite the reputation Jaeger. I think everyone has at least heard your name." His face was dark red. Whether from embarrassment or anger, I'm not sure. "I mean your dad is Grisha Jaeger. One of the most famous lawyers in Paradis and Marley. Plus you yourself have made a name here at Paradis university."

Grisha is in the news about every other week, his mom is also a little famous for a commercial she did one time. If you didn't know the Jaeger name in Paradis, then you live under a rock.
