Despite being born to a muggle family, Aurora Evans was born a metamorphmagus. She was born with raven black hair and yellow highlights and at the age of 3 years old, her highlights started changing colour. First pink, then blue, emerald green and blood red. Of course, this was highly peculiar–and extremely rare, so Headmaster Dumbledore had to intervene and inform Mr and Mrs Evans of their daughter's abilities.

By the time she was 11 years old, Aurora was able to control her abilities with the help of her twin sister Lily. The two received Hogwarts letters, and while Lily was constantly tormented by James Potter, he, along with three other boys, befriended Aurora and the five of them named themselves the Marauders.

Remus Lupin was bitten by werewolf Fenrir Greyback when he was just six years old. Every full moon, he turned into a werewolf alone, until he came to Hogwarts and his friends discovered what he was hiding. The other four Marauders wanted to help him, and Peter Pettigrew, James Potter and Sirius Black successfully turned themselves into animagi to help their friend on the night of the full moon. Aurora, however, didn't need to do that as her metamorphic abilities were advanced enough for her to be able to turn into a Red fox on command.

Not unlike his best friend James, Remus had developed a crush on one of the Evans sisters, Aurora, to be precise. However, James blatantly announced his love for Lily to the whole school, whereas Remus wouldn't be able to whisper his crush into Aurora's ear.

But as the Marauders enter their fifth year, Remus will have to decide if he's going to tell Aurora how he feels, or if he'll let the girl named for the northern lights slip through his fingers.

Their story starts the night of the new moon.

Aurora hushed Remus as she peered around a corner for a teacher patrolling the halls. She grabbed her friend's hand and together they sprinted off towards the small cliff next to the Whomping Willow. Aurora had stolen him from sleep in the infirmary to show him something she hoped would cheer him up a little bit after his last shift the previous night. "C'mon slowpoke!" She whisper-yelled, a giant grin gracing her features.

At last the two Marauders arrived at their destination and slumped onto the grass, letting out puffs of air to get the oxygen back to their lungs.

"Okay," Aurora started. "I know you're wondering why I brought you here, but just hear me out." She turned to face him, the breeze blowing at her Gryffindor-red highlights. She pointed to the sky. "What isn't there tonight?" She asked. Remus examined the sky for himself.

"The moon," He stated.

"Correct," She smiled. "I know you pretty much hate the moon because of what it does to you, but there are other things in the sky that are worth looking at aren't there?" Her grin widened and she locked eyes with her wolfy friend. "Look at the stars, look how they shine for you, and everything you do." She began singing, the boy next to her only becoming even more enraptured in her presence. "I wrote a song, I wrote a song for you, and all the things you do, and it was called 'Yellow'." The girl's highlights turned yellow and she burst out giggling, Remus joining in as well.

"You wrote that song?" he asked. She laughed harder.

"Oh no, I wish I could write songs like that," She shook her head. "That was Yellow, by Coldplay." Remus furrowed his eyebrows and cocked his head to the side.

"Who?" Aurora gasped.

"You don't know who Coldplay is?" She gaped. Remus shook his head with a smile, enjoying the moments he spent with her. "They're only the best band ever!"

"Surely not better than the Weird Sisters?" He grinned teasingly at her.

"How dare you, Lupin! They're three times better than the Weird Sisters!" She punched him playfully and the pair laughed.

They spent the rest of the night like that, discussing the most insignificant of things, but both enjoying each other's company. Things were sure to change between them after that night, but whether Remus would gather the courage to inform the girl too-oblivious-for-her-own-good was the real question.
