Chapter 23: We Kick Monster Butt

Annabeth POV

There were many things Annabeth had been expecting today.

Being eaten by a Sphinx was not one of those.

She also was not anticipating a boy wearing pajamas to save her immortal life because she couldn't figure out how to kill an Egyptian Sphinx creature.

Carter, whom this boy seemed to match Percy's description of, said some strange word and a hieroglyph appeared in the air, causing the Sphinx to explode into clay rubble.

Carter helped Annabeth up, and she saw in Percy's mind that Sadie was doing the same for him.

"You must be Carter Kane from the house of life." I assessed.

"Percy tell you about me I presume?"

"Ha, yea. I've heard quite a bit about you. Now of you don't mind, we have monster butt to kick." I said, giving a wolfish smile as I drew my dagger, also unsheathing my claws simultaneously.

"Sounds like a normal day to me."

Together, with the few remaining gods, Angels, Pack, demigods, Hunters, and Egyptians every monster was slowly defeated.

I glanced around the carnage to see Percy legitimately kicking the behind of the final monster, an Empousa. "I swear to every religion that exists Kelly I never want to see you again!" The cheerleader burst into dust after the roundhouse kick to the bum.

I laughed and walked up to my mate, putting my arms around his waste.

"Had enough of Kelly to last a lifetime?"

"Gods yes. I have never hated cheerleaders so much before."

I laughed and led the Egyptians to the Big House for a briefing.

Percy P.O.V.
Annabeth and I had just finished explaining recent events to Carter and Sadie Kane, whose mouths were hanging wide open. At least, Carter's was as he tried to absorb everything he had just heard. (Okay I'm gonna be honest. I barely remember anything from the Kane Chronicles and I don't have access to them. Unless someone wants to give me a summary of the books and their powers they are getting winged. Sorry.)

Sadie just shrugged.

"If you chaps exist then why not everything else. Just makes me feel better that mortals still technically control everything."

I feel like this girl and Thalia would get along quite well for some reason.

"So what other backup do you guys have coming?" Sadie asked.

"Well we've been finding nee demigods like crazy, and we plan to bring the Amazons in if possible, since Percy made peace with them a while back." Annabeth said.

"I don't know about peace..." I said.

"They agreed to help so whatever you did worked King Seaweed." She shut me up.

Sadie laughed. "King Seaweed? I like it. But I think Idiot of the Sea is better."

Carter smiled at that, breaking out of his shock.

"Come on, let's go introduce you guys to Camp, although you already made quite the entrance."

'I like Sadie even better now than when she helped me defeat that monster.' Annabeth laughed in my head.
