First love (Luke hemmings fan fiction)

Friendship

It was friday and i had almost completed my first week of my new school. I was enjoying it and even found myself getting excited when my alarm went off, but that was only because of one person... Luke! He was in all of my classes apart from P.E which all the girls went together and all the boys. I had made more friends than i thought i would of, i had been accepted by a "group" of kind, friendly girls. The group consisted of 5 girls, Crystal, Saffy,Molly,Blaize and Ebony.In all my classes at least one of them was in there, in English and Maths we all had the same class which made the subject more exciting.

It was 3rd lesson, Maths and me and the class were all silently working on  our simple addition sheet.I was just figuring out the next answer when something hit the back of my head. Next to me sat a rolled up piece of paper, with my name scribbled on it. I looked behind me and saw Luke grinning, i figured that it must of been him that threw the paper at me. "Open it" he mouthed to me.I grabbed it and unfolded it quietly, not wanting to disturb the rest of the class. "Fancy having lunch with me today? The boys wont mind me leaving them for you;)" My heart started to beat a little faster than usual, he wanted to spend time with me! On our own! I quickly scribbled back "Sure, meet me in the canteen?" and chucked the paper back behind me back to luke. A few minutes later the paper landed next to me again, I unrolled it and saw Luke"s reply. "Sure! I'll be waiting!:)" The bell rang for next lesson and I scuttled out with the girls.

As I walked into the canteen I noticed Luke sat down straight away. Something about him always caught my eye, I noticed him from wherever i was, even if it was in a massive crowd at school. He just always stood out. As I approached the table in the corner where he was sitting he looked up at me and gave me a massive cheeky grin. I sat down and he pushed a ham sandwich and a can of coke towards me. "I thought you'd be hungry so I got you the same as me"   "Thanks, I'm starving!" I replied, feeling ataken back that he had thought about me. "Since we are in pretty much all of the same classes I thought we should get to know each other! I never have a chance to talk to you, apart from tutor but that isnt enough really!" He winked at me and I find myself laughing at him, in a flirty kind of way. "How are you finding this school then?" He casually asks me whilst getting comfy and resting his head in his hands. "I'm glad I moved here, I'm really enjoying it thanks! The people are lovely and the teachers are way nicer than the ones at my old school!" We talk about our hobbies and what we want to do when we grow up and luke warns me about the teachers to steer clear of. I learn that Luke is way into music and he and the 3 boys he is always with have made up their own band! I glance around the canteen casually whilst listening to Luke telling me about a song they are working on when I noticed a girl glaring at me in a fierce way. I recognise her, she is in my maths and science class. I give her a puzzled look and she gets up from her chair, tells her friends something  then  begins to stroll over. As she reaches mine and Luke's table she turns to Luke and starts to flutter her eyelashes and flicks her hair back over her shoulder. "Want to join me and my pals?" Zara asks luke, sitting on the table, facing him and blocking me out. "Naaah, im alright here thanks!" He replies back to her. Taken aback by the rejection, her face falls and she stands up, glances back over her shoulder, narrows her eyes at me in a evil way  then struts away, trying to act casual but I can tell she is feeling embarrassed and humilated by her rejection. "When will that girl ever learn that i am not into her!" luke grumbles to me and rests his head the table. "Do you have any history together?" I ask, curious to find out! "Nope, none at all. She has tried so many times to get close to me, but i know her type,a flirt with all the boys, she then takes a interest in one particular and when they dont want anything to do with her she drowns herself in self pity and wants people to feel sorry for her. She's also a player, she went out with my mate Callum, when he said could her meet her the day after because he had to finish a important science project, she felt that he was messing her around when he wasnt so she dumped him then forced our friend Michael to go out with her.She's the type of girl that gets what she wants and very rarely is anyone brave enough to say "No" to her, so he was scared of her and had to agree to be with her. She caused so many arguements between Michael and Callum over that whole situation but luckily they are all pretty chilled guys and soon sorted it out"  "She sounds like a nasty piece of work!" I reply.  "Yes she is, but just stick with me and I'll keep you out of trouble with her" He tells me, making me feel protected. The bell rings for the end of lunch and we both get up,we both have catering together next so we chuck our rubbish in the bin then start walking to our next lesson. As I walk next to Luke I can't help feeling that I've probably made an enemy with that Zara kid. Oh well, I though, I will just stick with Luke like he said, I'm sure he will keep me out of trouble.
