Prompt: Pick a movie. Rewrite the ending.Movie: Avengers: Endgame
"And I... am... Iron Man."
As the Avengers and their team look around the place that used to be the backyard of the Avengers Compound, they see the Chitauri and the rest of Thanos's army dusting away.
As Tony lean against a rock, Peter comes up to him and falls to the ground.
"Mr. Stark...Tony...it’s okay, it’s okay...Mr. Stark, we won. You did it, sir..."
As Pepper checks his condition with the help of F.R.I.D.A.Y., the main heroes gather around to see if he's going to be okay.
As the arc reactor slowly blinks out, the heroes start to kneel around Tony.
(Yes I know this was technically not in the movie, it was a deleted scene, but it is my headcanon that it actually happened.)
After a few minutes of silence, the heroes look back up, and Thor starts crying. Steve goes over to him and tries to comfort him by saying, "Shh, Thor, he saved us all, it was his time to go."
All Thor can do is point in a different direction. The group slowly looks towards where he is pointing, and draw their weapons and charge up their powers.
Loki is kneeling to Tony, like the rest of them.
He looks up towards Thor.
"I told you brother, the sun would shine on us again."
At this, Thor breaks into sobs and runs over to Loki, tackling him to the ground in the process.
"Alright you overdramatic oaf, get off of me before I stab you!" Loki exclaims.
The surrounding heroes look towards the pair skeptically, while still holding their weapons.
Loki notices this and tells them, "Ok, I now you don't exactly trust me after everything that's happened, but now that Thanos is gone, I can explain everything."
He looks over to Nebula, who he recognized from the time he had spent with the titan.
Pointing to her, he says, "And she can confirm it."
Everyone looks to Nebula, and she nods.
Steve steps in, "Alright, we'll give you a chance, but first, we are going to mourn our losses."

As everyone has finished paying their respects during the joint funeral for Tony, Natasha, and Vision, as well as any other heroes who died during the battle, they sit in a circle in the living room, all eating cheeseburgers.
"So, Reindeer Games, care to explain now?" Steve asks, breaking the silence.
Nebula moves over to a seat closer to Loki, and prepares to show evidence from her more robotic parts of her brain to prove Loki's claims.
Loki explains how after everything happened with Puente Antiguo, NM with the Destroyer and Thor's return to Asgard, he let go of Gungnir, falling off the Bifrost into the abyss, hoping to end up in Valhalla, or Hel, whichever was decided for him. He explained that his wishes were not fulfilled, and he was discovered by Thanos. The titan, searching for more Infinity Stones, tortured Loki into helping him achieve his goal, threatening his possibility of peace in the future, as well as his family, if he did not succeed.
(This is a confirmed theory, if you need proof, the end credits scene in Thor should give that to you.)
As Loki explained this, Nebula played memories of watching him be tortured. Loki's face paled, but he continued to tell his story. Everyone around him was invested (he is the God of Stories, after all).

When Loki's story was finished, the heroes around him didn't know how to react. Well, all except for Thor. He waddled over to his adoptive brother and smothered him with a bone-crushing hug, sobbing again. This time, Loki just let it happen.
Am I going soft? Loki wondered.
After a few minutes, Loki pushed Thor off of himself, claiming that he had to use the restroom.
As he was sitting in the tiny room the Midgardians directed him towards, he listened in to their conversation.
"Fury, he was tortured and mind controlled into the entire thing, it wasn't his fault," the patriotic soldier said.
"Yes, I know, but the rest of the population doesn't know, so he would have to be imprisoned, unless you can think of another way." the one eyed man replied.
"I think he should be able to prove himself to the public, not just thrown into a cell," the woman named Wanda said. She wasn't too bad, compared to the other Midgardians.
"And what authority or knowledge do you have to make that decision?" Fury asked.
"You know that I was sent to that terrible place in the middle of the ocean, during the Avengers' little feud in 2016. I was restrained, unable to move or use my powers at all without being electrocuted. It was miserable. I couldn't even eat!"
After the Avengers finished their squabbling, Loki left the restroom, and they told him of their plan. He was to become an Avenger, and prove to the public that he was trustworthy. After the entire ordeal was over with, Loki, Steve, Bucky, Sam, and Professor Hulk went to return the stones to where they got them. As Steve prepared to go, he picked up Mjolnir. After a hushed conversation between the green monster and Sam Wilson, Steve was prepared.
"Ready, Cap? You’re good to go. Meet you right back here, okay?" the Hulk-scientist combination asked.
After a glance at Bucky, Steve replies, "You bet."
Loki looked between the two. He quickly deduced that Bucky and Steve had some thing between them that neither of the old souls had disclosed to each other, most likely because of previous social limitations on this idiotic planet.
He recognized the look on Bucky's face, having seen it before, as a sort of knowing, but sad, look.
Steve tapped his wrist, and disappeared. Smart Hulk started his countdown, and when he finished, Steve popped back up in his place, but he was carrying his shield, completely restored. He walked off the platform, and nearly ran to hug Bucky. The man who had previously looked sad now looked surprised, hugging Steve back.
As they walked off together, the remaining three looked at each other confusedly, shrugged, and walked back to where the others were.

Three Months Later
Everybody was finished with their victory celebrations, and went back to life, trying to fix things after everyone had been brought back. Steve and Bucky were an official couple now (yes, I am a Stucky shipper), Hulk-Banner had found a way to restore Vision (this time without the mind stone, obviously), and he and Wanda were off doing who knows what.
The Asgardians had created their own home in the Netherlands, since Ragnarök destroyed Asgard. The last Valkyrie had been coronated as the Queen of New Asgard, and Thor had flown off with the Guardians. Loki had no choice but to stay in the Avengers Compound, although it would have been his choice, he would rather be there than the "primitive" New Asgard. Clint went on a vacation with his family, and the others had returned from their celebrations to fight as the Avengers again. (Well, all except for the King of Wakanda, which is a truly marvelous place.) Loki had found a friend, surprisingly, in the spiderling, who had recently moved in with the rest of the heroes.
Everything was going great, all except for the occasional battle and injury.
