the start (chap. one)

As Gavin was sitting down on the carpet of his class, he noticed something off about the way his best friend, Lucas was acting. Lucas was usually a very loud person, but right now? He was silent as Hellen Keller.

Gavin got suspicious, and wanted to learn more. As he got us to walk towards his bestie, he got stopped in his tracks by his other good friend, Carson, whom at the time knew Lucas' secret. Gavin, annoyed pushed Carson out of the way; grabbing attention of Lucas.

Lucas had always looked up to Gavin, they both had the same interests. Though Lucas was way shorter than him, Gavin never minded, he instead welcomed him into his friend group, slowly gaining a close bond that would never stop growing. Though recently, Lucas had started to fancy Gavin, fantasize, even. Gavin had always been openly homophobic, which made Lucas uncomfortable, as Lucas was secretly bi curious. But Lucas would never have told Gavin, because he cared about their bond more than him being himself.

Gavin, growing angry; grabbed Lucas' hand and pulled him out of math class and towards the locker room down the hall. Lucas, frightened by Gavin's anger and power, let him.

When they entered the locker room, Gavin pinned Lucas to the door. "WHY ARE YOU IGNORING ME MAN?!" Lucas, blushing and scared, replied in a meek tone. "W-what do you mean?! I'm n-not ignoring you!!" Gavin, visibly furious, grabbed Lucas' collar and asked again, this time closer and more passionate, in a way scared. "WHY ARE YOU IGNORING ME?! I'M SERIOUS LUCAS... I THOUGHT WE WERE CLOSE ENOUGH TO TALK ABOUT ANYTHING!!" Lucas starts to cry a bit, scared that he will be shunned away from his best friend's life, forced to be alone.

"Look, Gavin please, I just don't want to ruin our friendship with this..." He turns away, growing more red by the second. Gavin catching on a bit, takes his chin, and looks into his eyes. "What could you possibly say that could ruin what we have?"
