Although Wren Beckett has been blind since birth, she still has yet to come to terms with her fate. After losing her beloved seeing-eye dog Cricket, she is devastated and refuses to leave the house. Wren believes that her father placed her in a support group to cope with the loss of her dog, but the support group is designed to help her cope with the loss of her sight. Through the biweekly meetings, Wren learns that her blindness is not something to be ashamed about.
