Chapter 2 - Wanting To Help

The weekend...

Location - (L/N) Residence, (Y/N)'s Room

Your POV

Ah, the weekend is finally here. This is where I would feel warm and fuzzy on the inside, and just relax till my heart contends. However, this time around, I wasn't feeling it. In fact, I guess you can say... I was on edge. And how can I not? After hearing about the possible closure of Comet, it was all I can think about. I want to help in any way I could, but what can someone like me do?

"How to save Comet from closure..." I said to myself.

The owner said she won't close the live house unless we can get a full house. I guess this means I should find some bands who would want to hold a live performance, but the question is... who?

While thinking about this, there was a knock at my bedroom door. Thinking it was just my parents, I told whoever was at the door to come in. But it wasn't parents at the door when it opened, it was Touko.

"Hiya! There you are!" She said as a grin spread across her face.

"Touko? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Silly? Did you forget? We were going to go to Nanami's place together." She said. Oh yeah, how could I forget all about that?

"Oh, sorry about that." I said to my bestie.

"Is everything okay? You don't seem like yourself?" Touko asked.

"Y-Yeah, I am." I said, lying a bit. "I'll get ready now."

After getting ready, Touko and I walked out of my bedroom to say goodbye to my parents. Then we headed over to Nanami's place, where the other Morfonica members will be waiting for us.

30 minutes later...

Location - Hiromachi Residence

As Touko and I showed up at Nanami's place, some greetings were made, and some scolding was in order, thanks to Rui. And as you can guess, I had to step in and defended her. Even though my mind is on Comet, I am still willing to protect Touko's happiness.

Once all of that was taken care of, Morfonica began their band rehearsals. I did my best to watch them, and point out any possible mistakes I might see, but because of everything that is going on in my life, I began to space out during certain moments.

"Phew, we can take a break now." Touko said as she placed her guitar on the ground.

"Yeah, my arms are getting sore." Tsukushi said.

"And I did better this time, right?" Touko asked her bandmates. But sadly, Rui gave her the results she didn't want to hear.

"Kirigaya-san, I hate to break it to you, but you made the same mistake from last time." She said with a cold tone in her voice.

"Are you serious, Rui? I thought I was doing better than last time." Touko said in a sad tone.

"Yes, I am dead serious." She replied.

"(Y/N)! Rui is being a bully again!" Touko whined. I was still spacing out, and everyone started to noticed.

"(Y/N)!" Touko shouted, and brought me back to reality.

"Huh? I'm sorry, did you say something?" I asked.

"I don't think I have ever seen you this spaced out before." Nanami said.

"Is there something wrong?" Mashiro asked.

I guess I should tell them about what is going on at Comet. They like the live house as much as I do, and they have the right to know what is going on...

"Actually, I have some unfortunate news I want to share with everyone, and it is super important." I told them.

"What is it?" Tsukushi asked.

"Well, Comet is actually closing down unless we can get some bands to perform, and get a full house." I explained.

After the explanation, the faces of the Morfonica girls began to fell, especially Touko's.

"Oh my... I had no idea this is happening." Touko softly said as she came over and gave me a hug.

"It's okay, I was going to tell you all at some point." I replied and hugged her back.

"At some point? You mean you hid this from us? If you told us sooner, we definitely would've helped you." Touko said, and by the tone in her voice, it was hard to tell if she was mad or sad.

"And how exactly are you going to fix the situation?" Rui asked her.

"Simple, we'll have our next show at Live House Comet, get other bands to perform with us, and help it get a full house, too!" Touko declared as we were taken aback by this decision.

"Leave it to Touko-chan to come up with something like this." Nanami said.

"Yeah, and do you think we can make it happen?" Rui asked.

"Of course we can." Touko replied and looked towards me. "(Y/N), do you think you can pull some strings for us?"

"Sure thing. I can talk to the manager about it." I said with a smile. Maybe it wasn't a bad idea to talk about this with them.

"Awesome! Thanks bestie!" Touko said and gave me a big hug.

"N-No problem." I replied and hugged her back. Can't breathe... Hug too tight...

Near the end of the day...

Location - Kirigaya Residence, Touko's Room

Touko's POV

Aw man, today was full of surprises, huh? What took me by surprise was (Y/N) telling us that Comet was closing down forever. Now that I heard about it, I feel a little sad. Comet is important to me as it is to (Y/N). I really want to help out, and I think I know how to do it.

"Okay, just got to type this... and post."

I went on my social media page and told my followers to come support Morfonica at Live House Comet. The date for the show hasn't been set yet, but that won't stop us.

All the same, I wish (Y/N) didn't hide this from me. He is my best friend, and we promise that we wouldn't hide anything from each other. It's like... I don't know him that well.

"(Y/N), what am I going to do with you?"
