The Shan club

Prologue

Here are some interesting facts about me: my full name is Clover Oasis Moon, I am 70% random awesomeness and up until when I was about nine, I had near to no emotions. Loneliness, that was one, but that was about it. Then all of a sudden, I felt boredom. That was the start of my life, pretty much. Soon after, I felt pride, happiness, and love... But mostly pride. I became the awesome person I am today, almost. I didn't hate anyone. It was weird, I got annoyed at some people, but I had never felt hate, determined, gritty minded hate that fuelled so e people's blood. I kept on feeling no hate, until one certain day in January. You wouldn't expect a day like that could be so amazingly life changing, in fact...

Chapter one math

...It was just another boring, tedious math lesson at ******* high school. The complex and mind dulling lesson was taking place in room 13, just across room 14, which is very important, but not until the second book. Inside room 13, you could always find the occasional student playing on or with their phones or chewing gum. People were slumped backwards into their chairs, or leaning on the cluttered desks which were scattered with key-ringed pencil cases and graffiti-ed math books. Outside, the typical English weather was miserable and grey, not to mention brain-freezing-ly cold. It was quieter than usual, most were too confused or bored to talk, and only the occasional whispered comment was dropped. The teacher was robotically rambling on about multi minus bracket deciplatationoligy numbers and a chorus of lazy yawns could be heard throughout the class. Four of the loudest yawns came from Skyler, Christina, Anastasia and Blaize.

Skyler Penworth, Christina, Anastasia Woodlock and Blaize were four loud, crazy Darren Shan obsessed girls in year seven. Darren Shan was an author, who had written a series of exiting, entrancing, kinda gory vampire stories (I'm a poet and I didn't even know it.); they were called the cirque du freak.

The plotline of Cirque du Freak was basically; a young boy called Darren Shan goes to a freak show with Steve Leonard. At the show, Steve recognizes one of the performers as Larten Crepsley, a Vampire from almost 100 years ago. After the show he asks Crepsley to turn him into a vampire but the vampire declines. Darren steals Mr.Crepsley's spider, madam Octa which bite Steve, poisoning him fatally. Only Darren can save him by becoming a vampire. Darren saves his friend but has to leave his hometown forever, turning Steve against him. The two vampires go back to the cirque du freak, and meet Evra von, the snake boy. They have many adventures, including battling vampaneze, travelling to vampire mountain with the vampire general, Gavner Purl, and saving mankind from a living hell, not to far along in the future.

As soon as Anastasia had picked up the manga novel (Manga was one of our lengthy crazes, and still is) and started reading it from back cover to front (Manga books are written backwards, not sure why) we instantly fell in love with the books, bringing us closer to our imaginations, and new best friends. Soon after, we discovered the actual books in the library, and the obsession grew larger. Soon, I was fantasizing about made-up scenes involving the characters, Christina's bedroom was plastered in Larten Crepsley posters, Anastasia was drawing the characters non-stop, to Skyler, cirque du freak was a main conversation point and Blaize was just sort of... Blaize-ing about and putting everyone off their Darius cakes (inside joke, you'll get it when book two comes out).

Skyler, Christina and Anastasia were part of a four member-ed, not-so-secret society called the Shan club. ("Very imaginative name guys!" Skyler had commented.) They set this club up not long after...the obsession... started, I won't bother explaining what the shan club was because you can probably guess what it was. Blaize was not but I will get on to that in a mo. I was the fourth member of this club; however I was in a different math lesson. Tragic, I know.

Blaze was the reject- ahem- wannabe of the group. She loved Darren Shan (the books (and the character (for some reason (he's pathetic ("no offence Darren" (offence intended (I should stop putting brackets)))))))

But disliked Larten Crepsley, so, was immediately banned from the club. Anybody who didn't like Mr. Crepsley would be assassinated by Christina. She's a big fan. At that point, we didn't really know her, and would avoid her alot, but, times change, and we are all quite friendly now. Blaize was, and still is, also a psychopath, and generally quite scary.

Skyler and Christina were in deep conversation about multi decimalplationy thingies. Well, I say multi decimataplonologytologyia thingies...

"But he has an ugly spider!" Skyler protested. (O.k., so not multi bracket multdecimoloygolololololy to the power of seventeen...)

"Not that he likes it!!" Christina Replied, and before Skyler's brain had registered what Christina had said and thought of making a comeback Christina argued,

"And he has a cool coat, and orange hair, and he's awesome, and he hasorange hair, and..."

"Thank you" a low, slightly intimidating voice interrupted it's extremely obsessive fan. It's a pity I wasn't there to be honest, it would have been nice to, you know, gasp along with them like I used to (no-body will get that, sorry). Blaze gasped. Anastasia froze. Christina fell off her chair. The whole room went completely silent as The Larten Crepsley walked out of the stock cupboard. Every body stared.

"Well this is bizarre" Skyler broke the silence.

Skyler's voice seemed to shake Christina from her trance. Once she had recovered she started shrieking hysterically:

Oh MY GOD ITS LARTEN CREPSLEY!!!

The room was filled with puzzled faces

"Who the Hell is Lauren crispy?!" Yelled Louis in his slightly annoying voice.

Christina stood up, walked over to Louis and said angrily;

"Larten Crepsley..."

"Is amazing" Anastasia finished

"Enough said!" chorused Christina, Anastasia and Skyler.

Larten blushed a light pink.

"Aww! His face matches his hair!!" Skyler screamed

"Shut. Up. Now." Larten growled and blushed some more.

Blaize had not moved since Crepsley's arrival. She stared at the vampire, heart thudding.

"This is it!" she thought excitedly "my one chance to become a vampire,"

Slowly, taking a model of Darren from her bag, she rose, unaware that her destiny had a different path.

"Can I touch your face!?" she asked Larten, giggling psychopathically "ooh a scar! Can I lick it?!!"

Larten backed away, incredibly disturbed. He clutched the side of his face defensively and scowled.

"Okay..." Larten said after he had recovered. "Skyler, Anastasia, and Christina and..." he gulped "Blaize, come with me, we have some work to do."

The teacher was still too shocked to object as an entirely fictional vampire led four giggling girls outside.
