Chapter 1

Marc glanced with longing at Jamie. He had never seen something quite like him before. He felt different about this one. Jamie was surrounded be his friends, the popular crowd. Marc had never quite fit in with them and was perfectly okay with that. But now, he felt as though something was missing in his life. He felt as though there was a void in his heart, but when Marc looked at Jamie, he felt as though that void was filled for just a split second.

The 8th grade class had gone on a field trip and was currently eating lunch at the varsity. Jamie glanced at Marc, then he approached him. "Hey Marc, do you want to sit with us?" Marc shyly approached the table with Jamie surrounded by his friends. Miles and Natalie quietly whispered to each other while holding each other's hands. Logan was casually sitting in the seat next to Jamie with Mattie gently resting her head on his shoulder. At first, Marc thought it was a prank, and he was partly right.

"Do u plan on sucking some dick tonight?" Miles asked rudely.

Marc cowered in his seat looking to Jamie for comfort. Jamie just sat there looking with a blank face while everyone else laughed at the sny comment.

"What's your favorite color body glitter to wear when you get it on?" Patrick asked sarcastically.

Marc cowered even more. Jamie laughed at this comment. Then, Marc got up and left, returning to his empty table where nothing was but the large cup of coke. Later, when Marc was getting back on the bus to go home, Jamie came up behind him and said very slyly,

"Sorry 'bout the way they made fun of you back there. It wasn't cool."

Marc joyed a bit in knowing someone recognized his self-worth. Jamie then invited Marc to sit next to him on the bus ride home.

On the bus ride, Marc sat in front of Jamie, who sat next to Allyssa, his not so secret secret admirer. Jamie looked over the seat while Marc turned around so they could chat. They small talked and occasionally, their hands touched gently over the back of the seat. After about an hour into the ride, Allyssa had moved away and Jamie was by himself asleep in the seat. Marc decided to move to the seat next to Jamie. As he moves slowly to the seat, Jamie turned his heading his sleep. Marc felt as though it was a sign. Marc sat down and sat on the edge of the seat. Throughout the ride, Marc inched closer and closer to Jamie, hoping he wouldn't notice. But, the slow moving ride was so calming, Marc soon fell asleep. The sleeping Marc then fell on top of Jamie, and Jamie while asleep then rested his head on Marc's. The two slept until they reached their stops, which were coincidentally the same. Marc then walked with Jamie until he got to his house. They then went their own separate ways. Marc started skipping home once he was sure Jamie was inside.
