"I LOST MY CAT!" Jeno shouted desperately as he opened the door to the police station.
He stormed inside, rushed up to the first desk, then over to the next, creating as much fuss and attracting as much attention as he possibly could.
"SOMEONE HELP ME!"
"Sir--" an officer attempted but Jeno stopped her.
"HIS NAME IS MR PAWDINGTON, OFFICER!"
She frowned. "...like the bear?"
"Similar," Jeno replied calmly, breaking his character for a second before realizing his mistake and starting again with, "I NEED TO FIND HIM!"
Looking around nervously, the officer noticed the turmoil he had created inside the police station. All eyes were on them.
"Okay, sir, I understand that you are upset but I need you to calm down first," she said, then gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "Let's discuss this in my office, okay? Please follow me."
Jeno attempted to sniffle, yet couldn't quite channel his inner actor enough to fake even just a single tear. It came out empty and awkward but, then again, it still kinda fit his character.
Meanwhile, Chenle laughed quietly as he glimpsed into the station through the window next to the entrance doors.
"Poor Jeno," he mumbled, then turned to his friends that were equally as amused but less surprised by the act. "Did you play rock paper scissors for that?"
"Yep," Yangyang said proudly. He looked to his side trying to see if Jie was still there. However, as expected, she was nowhere to be seen. "I hope this works," he mumbled nervously.
Only glimpsing shortly at the younger boy, Jaemin soon focused his eyes on the window again, looking inside anxiously. He nodded though, sharing Yangyang's worries.
"By the way, do you think we will be able to hear it?" Lucas asked curiously, not nearly as concerned as the other two.
Hendery frowned. "Hear what?"
The door to the office of the Chief of Police swung open. Looking up in surprise, the man behind the desk was quick to exchange said surprise for confusion.
"Good morning," Jie said sweetly but the Chief wasn't down for it.
He frowned. "Who the hell are you?"
A little disappointed at the lack of enthusiasm, she readjusted her sweet smile to a challenging smirk as she introduced herself as,
"Wang Jie."
Arrogant. Loud. She wasn't afraid to attract attention. In fact, she wanted it.
"An old friend of Li Huang." She looked at him. "You know him, right?"
Provocatively, she walked all the way over to his desk, where she slammed a hand against it loudly. It wasn't necessary to bring her intentions across, just served as a way to get more attention.
And attention, that she got.
She subtly glimpsed to the side, saw how people looked inside through the windows.
The man huffed as he tried to cover his irritation with amusement.
"What are you talking about?""Bribes. Cooperating with gangs. Baseless arrests and unjustified releases, Chief Lee." She listed all she knew of, all of the things she knew she had or could get evidence of.
