Author's Note: Hello friends. Sorry for taking such a long time to update. If you're like me and constantly reading multiple fics/books at once depending on the updates, you probably have forgotten some if not all of what has happened til now. So here is a quick plot summary for you:

Alina lives on her own in the Illyrian mountains as an outcast because she has white feathered wings and the Illyrians do not accept her. She met Cassian one day while he was in an Illyrian village trying to find recruits for a female training course. She reluctantly agrees to go and when she does, she meets the shadowsinger, Azriel. They take a liking to each other, especially when he and Cassian discover that she is the opposite of Az: a lightbringer. Something that Azriel realizes upon meeting her is that she is also his mate. They invite her to Velaris to spend time with the Inner Circle, and she stays extra time to participate in Starfall celebrations. The more time they spend together, the more her and Azriel bond over their traumatic past. This chapter picks up immediately after Starfall, when Daddy Az takes her back to his apartment *insert eyebrow raises*

Thoughts of their earlier conversation still swam around in her head as they flew from the House of Wind to Azriel's apartment. That all changed, though, when they landed on another balcony, this one with a much closer view of the Sidra, and Azriel flung open the doors. Immediately, the smell of clean linen, evergreen trees, and fresh pine invaded her senses as she took in the massive room before her. Everything, from the floors to the décor to the sleek, modern looking kitchen cabinets and marble countertops, was varying shades of black. The vaulted ceilings made the room feel extra spacious, but even with all the dark colors it still felt comfortable. Masculine and moody, perhaps, but comfortable. Very befitting of the shadowsinger.

"I know, it's a lot. I didn't even really want to have this place but Rhys and Feyre insisted."

Alina looked at Azriel and found him already watching her. "I like it. It's very..." Alina trailed off as she watched his stare intensify in a way that brought a flush to her cheeks. When he looked at her like that, all rational thoughts seemed to just empty right out of her head. "You," she finished. He started moving towards her, wings spread wide behind him. She backed up with him, matching step for step until her wings brushed the marble countertops. He stopped only inches away and braced his arms on either side of her hips, brushing the insides of her wings so softly that a chill rolled through her.

"I remember the last time we were in a kitchen like this."

"Yes."

"You wore a lot less clothing then."

Liquid heat blasted through her as the touch of his fingers flowed over the pulse point in her neck and down her collarbone. "Yes," she whimpered again, her brain unable to form any other words.

"I've had plenty of time to think about what I want to do to you." His touch drifted lower, setting her skin and her core ablaze. "And?"

His touch stilled at the spot between her breasts where the neckline of her dress began. A smirk danced across his face as he noted the flush of her cheeks, the quickened rhythm of her breaths across parted lips. "And would you rather I fuck you here on the counter, against the wall, or in my bed?" As he spoke his fingers resumed their lazy movements on her chest, circling over her breast but not quite touching her nipple. A moan escaped from her at the thought of him holding her up against a wall, limbs wrapped around his naked body as he thrust into her over and over.

"Maybe," he whispered as he pinched a cloth-covered nipple between his pointer and middle finger, "I'll do all three."

Cauldron have mercy, she thought as she felt the heat rush to her core. Caught up in his touch, she tipped her head back and let out a quiet moan. In response he dragged his tongue up the exposed curve of her neck. She grabbed his muscular shoulders in an attempt to steady herself when he grazed his teeth against the soft place where her neck meets her shoulders.
