Christmas, #Allhallowtide (Old Halloween), #Thanksgivingtide, #New_Years_Tide, the old #Holiday_of_Love (which we now celebrate on #Valentine's_Day instead), and #Eastertide itself, were all celebrated in one on #Easter, or #Old_Eastertide.
It was to commemorate that Jesus the Christ was eternally sacrificed to be born one spring and reborn another (He rose from the grave, finalizing His Atonement, on the First Day of the week after #Passover, as in #Easter_Sunday), and His purpose for doing so.
