Chapter 13

Valerie's POV

My brother stood there looking at Everett with his eyes narrowed. Everett smiled at him but didn't make an attemts to move. This is really not going to end well. "Ryder, don't you dare." I stood in front of him. "Go out and help the soldiers, I'll help everyone here."

Ryder seemed to hesitiate slightly before swiftly turning around and going back up the stairs. I turned to smile at Everett, "Don't take anything he says to heart, he's just a big..." There are children around... "Butt hole."

Everett laughed, "I like your choice of words."

I smiled and shrugged. Everett gave me a hug. After he gave me a kiss on the cheek I went around to the various people and tore their chains. Everett helped people get back outside. Almelia and Jackson carried the chirldren out because some were too scared to move.

I was the last one to make my way out with a little boy resting on my hip because he said he felt safer coming with me. When I found my way out of the building, Ryder and the soldiers were cleaning up the mess of the rouges.

"VALERIE!" Someone squealed before running towards me. She engulfed me in a hug along with the little boy I was still holding onto.

"Hey Eva," I laughed and hugged her back with my free arm.

"I missed you!" Eva pouted, "You should have at least texted me once to say how things were going!"

"Sorry," I was going to say something else, but Blake cut me off.

"Eva stop bugging her, she was here for buisness purposes." Blake smiled at me apologetically. Blake is Ryder's beta and him and Eva are mates.

I laughed and so did Eva, "Buisness purposes my butt."

"Why does everyone keep talking about their butt today?" The little boy in my arms asked.

I laughed, "No idea."

We were back at the pack house now. Not mine, Jackson's. Everett and Blake were talking with Ryder and Jackson in the office. I decided not to listen to them. Theo had returned a few moments ago and was sitting across from Amelia and I. Let's just say it was really awkward.

Someone please hurry up and save me.

Eva walked into the room and smiled at me. I knew she could sence the awkward in the room, it was that thick. "So Valerie," She sat on the other side of me. "Are you coming back or are you going to stay here with Everett?"

I shrugged, "I haven't got a clue. Its whatever they choose."

Speak of the devil, the boys all walked back in. Jackson smiled at his brother before smiling at me. Thye seemed to be having an awkward moment between them as well. I groaned and let my head fall to the counter top in front of me, "Why does everything have to be so awkward?" I asked to no one in particualar.

Everyone let out little chuckels, "Well we came to say that we have come to an agreement." Jackson spoke up.

Ryder nodded from beside him, "Eva and Blake will stay here and train everyone. Clark will become the new Beta and Everett is coming with us."

My whole face brightened, "Really?!"

Everett laughed, "Yes I am."

He came over and picked me up before spinning me around. I giggled. Wait, I actually giggled. I think I just scared everyone in the room because Everett stopped and put me down. He had a smirk on his face.

I cleared my throat, "I'm having an off-day. Ignore that giggle." I shivered a little showing how ashamed I was of it.

AND! Its over :( I really wanted to make this story longer and better, but it just didn't turn out like that. Sorry. I want to thank everyone who voted and commented on this story.
