"Will you quit fussing?"
"My fussing is what kept you alive cheeky cat. If Hawks had brought me a minute later we'd be planning your funeral."
I groaned out and laid my head back against the pillow. My face turned into a grimace as Recovery Girl checked over the bandages that were wrapped securely around my abdomen.
"Can't you go ahead and finish healing me up so I can go home?"
"You know I can't do that at the moment. Your body is too exhausted. I try and finish the process now and you'll die. For real this time." Recovery Girl patted my arm. I turned my gaze to her and smiled a little.
"Can I at least finish healing at home or even Atsumi's hotel? Come on old lady you know I hate hospitals."
"Depending on how you look tomorrow I may let you leave." She conceded using her cane to poke the side of my head "This old lady saved your life again."
I reached up and grabbed her cane before smiling fully at her. "I know. Thank you."
"Don't just thank me. The first aid those four provided is what ultimately gave you enough time for me to arrive. If Eraser didn't remove the metal when he did you would have died where you laid." The grip on my arm became tighter "I thought when I first saw you laying there that I was too late. I'm truly glad that isn't the case Kai."
"Don't you know I have nine lives," I joke.
"Keep it up and I'll kill ya myself next time ya damn stray." I turned my head to the door way where Atsumi stood with several containers of take-out and cups of coffee. "Stop givin the old lady a hard time and let her take care of ya."
"I am letting her you mangy mutt." I hiss at the white haired male but when the smell of food reached my nose my stomach let the room know how hungry I was. "Food."
"I have half a mind to eat it all myself," He grumbled taking the seat beside my bed.
"Then my injuries won't be the only injuries that Recovery Girl will be healing." I growl sitting up quickly causing pain to wrap around my stomach to my back. "Damn it. That hurts."
"Are you sure you two don't really hate each other?" I turned back to the door and saw Hizashi walking in. He was in civilian clothes. Blue jeans. Black short sleeved shirt. His beautiful blonde hair fully down.
"Quite the opposite if you ask me," Recovery Girl mumbled shaking her head.
Hizashi bent down and placed a quick kiss on one cheek while his hand caressed the other. "How are you feeling kitten?"
"Well, my eyebrows don't hurt. So I think I'm doing just fine." I smiled leaning into his touch letting out a small purr.
"How is he really Recovery Girl?" Shouta's deep voice asked as he walked into the room my eyes immediately looking down at my clenched hands.
"His wounds are significantly better. All things considered he's doing well. It'll take a few more healing sessions before he's back to full health. No hero work until then." I rolled my eyes looking over beside Atsumi.
"It's not like we need him anyway." A woman scoffed standing in the doorway.
"Who invited you lady?" I growl as five pairs of eyes glared at the woman who just barged in.
"So he caught one of the villains and now he's disposable?" Atsumi stood up and made his way to the foot of my bed.
"He didn't catch one. One suspect is dead and who know how many are still at large." She shrugged not daring to step further into the room. Don't blame her really. She's at the mouth of a lion's den. "He's also still alive."
