" The east barrier is open. "

The sound of the walkie-talkie sizzles in his ears, the connection is hard to keep even for such a reliable tool. In the middle of the tundra, nothing lasts very long.

17 a.m: Klioutchevskoy, Kamchatka Peninsula, Siberia.

It's been a short hour since Valentin gave up hope of finding some sensations in his extremities. Despite his outfit specially designed to retain maximum heat, he was cold, very cold. Because humans cannot always resist the force of nature.

In the seat next to him is his uncle, jubilant in his corner waiting for the arrival. Opposite to them, two other men, partners. Valentin always seemed to hit the mark, no matter how hard he tried, he was still a weakling, probably the fault of his 15 years olds.

The young boy noticed the mocking but also curious looks of the other two.

“ Did you take your little brother for bait, Kirill ?  “

The said “Kirill” didn't refrain from giving him a threatening look.

Kirill: You better shut it up, Jacob. He's my nephew and in your place I wouldn't underestimate him.

The man put his arm around the boy's shoulder, shaking him a little in an almost affectionate gesture. But his nephew was not the type to appreciate the publicity he would give him.

As the group chatted, the vehicle sank into a mixture of snow, ice and rock. On the glass obscured by the condensation, he could still make out the shape of the famous volcano overlooking Siberia. The sun was setting and their window of action was shrinking every minute.

Because in this arid environment it was better not to spend the night there.

" We’re here. “

The driver's voice wakes them up.

They had arrived from the eastern entrance, under the guidance of the first who arrived there.

The light of the day faded behind the windows, they had entered a structure but he didn't know which one yet.

When he heard the authorization to get out of the vehicle, Valentin did not need to be asked twice. Impatient to get some blood flowing through his limbs. A frozen draft hit his eyes and before his feet could touch the ground, his uncle caught him.

Kirill: Watch your step !

Half-opening his eyes he noticed the dozens of corpses littering the ground including the body of a man directly by the car. In a small voucher he was able to finally touch the ground. Kirill followed him, patting him on the head.

Kirill: Definitely, they don't know how to do a clean job in this region.

The man stepped forward, exchanging a few words with an armed soldier before returning to his henchmen.

Kirill: They located it.

The two men beside Valentin seemed to be celebrating but he, on the other hand, certainly wasn't aware of the plan and had to go along with it.

The group began to plunge into this base hewn in the rock, Valentine guessed the remains of an American militia. He wasn't the type to question his uncle's judgment, but he didn't think it was smart to create more conflict with the other continent. But after all, Kirill was serving his own interests.

With a sound, his uncle called him and Valentine immediately came back to his side.

Kirill: This mission is for you.

Valentin: .... I don't even know anything.

Kirill: You don’t need to, trust me it’s better. Now all you need to do ...
