The City Lights

Prologue

"Ridge, are you turning down my offer?" I took a sip of his coffee and smirked at him. He looked at me as if I did a very bad move

Oh! he really hates it when someone snatch his coffee most especially in the morning. I kinda love doing it every single day just to pissed him off.

"Partly yes? or no?" then I stood up and sit on his chair feeling every inch of it " I love sitting here but I don't like working, if I have a reason to take your place then I would gladly take it. Sadly, there's a lot of cases that I need to solve and I don't want more stress."

"Attorney, it is" I proudly nodded

"okay, if that's your decision then its fine. I hope you change your mind 'coz you still have a week to decide before my flight, just call me if it does" he pushed me out of his sit and gently sat there

"No, I'm always certain about my decisions." I said

This guy has a one month business trip in California and he keeps on disturbing the heck out of me to keep an eye in his business here. He has a lot of projects and he doesn't want to waste his time

"Staying there for one month is kinda boring" I plastered a smile on my face "But I think there's a lot of pretty girls out there" I chuckled

"You look like a monkey" he said without looking at me " What you think was wrong" he added and I let out a small laugh

"Why are you so defensive? I didn't say anything"I heard him sighed

"I need to go. I have to pick a new secretary" I fixed my polo and grab my suitcase

"Why don't you let someone pick for you instead?"

"I just wanna make sure that I pick the best one, or would you mind coming with me and suggest since we have 5 candidates for the position" I glanced at my wrist watch and I think I still have time

"Yeah" I said and followed him behind

Nanginginig pa ang mga kamay ko habang nakaupo sa waiting area na nasa harap lang ng information desk. Naka pag send na ako ng resume nong nakaraang araw at kahapon ay nakatanggap ako ng tawag galing sa kompanyang ito.

Tinignan ko ang repleksyon ko sa glass table kung maayos ba ang suot ko at make up ko. Bahagya pa akong ngumiti at huminga ng malalim

Kaya ko 'to! If this fail, edi uuwi nalang ako. Magtitinda nalang siguro ako ng kung anu-ano

"Alisha Marie Salvez!" Tawag ng isang staff

Tumayo naman ako at itinaas ang kamay ko

"Ikaw na" parang binomba ang puso ko sa kaba habang nag lalakad sa isang malawak na hallway. Tanging ingay lang ng suot kong heels ang naririnig ko. Sa isip ko ay pinapalakas ko ang loob ko

"Pag butihin mo dahil ang mismong boss ang mag-iinterview. Mag hahanap siya ng swak sa position, kaya goodluck sayo" tumango tango pa ako sa kanya at ngumiti

"Ah, miss..." Mahinang tawag ko sa kanya

"Yes?" Lumingon pa ito sa'kin

"Strikto ba yung boss niyo?" I heard she chuckles

"So so" and then she laughed a bit. Kaya mas kinabahan ako ng todo

Mag tatanong pa sana ako kaso binuksan niya na ang pinto ng conference room at sumunod ako sa kanyang pumasok
