Days turned into weeks, Pietro was feeling cramped being in his room every day since the sun rose until it set again and rose again. Nothing interesting happened, until this afternoon.

His father surprised him by placing a turtle on his lap, he said it was his.

He was happy, the turtle was slow but cute, so that turtle was with him all day.

There was a knock on the door, Pietro answered.

"Hey Pete"

"Alex...."

"I brought this for you" Alex carried a plate of the neatly cut cake.

"Lorna made it, this cake made it out of the kitchen she almost burned," said Alex

Peter chuckled, lately it seemed Lorna was looking for something to do, anything to fill her free time.

About Lorna, they had met before. Again. Not as a fellow servant of Apocalypse who even merely exchanged glances or spoke a sentence or two.

Meet as a friendlier person....now as siblings.

"It looks nice, give it to me" Pietro couldn't resist anything sweet, sugar, sugar, and sugar.

He took a small bite, intending to enjoy it, no need to rush so as not to run out quickly.

Once the small bite was in his mouth, he stopped, didn't chew it generously, and instead wore a strange expression.

"I-Is this supposed to be salty?" He frowned, wondering if his tongue was wrong, or if it was the cake that was wrong.

"Huh? It sure is sweet!" Alex took a piece of cake, he tried it to be sure. And an expression that was as strange as Pietro's appeared on his face.

"What the––" Alex took a tissue, melted the salty cake, and so did Pietro.

"Did she add salt instead of sugar or something?!!" Pietro drank a sip of water,

"She obviously wants to kill us" Alex complained.

"Say my thanks, bring back the cake" Pietro grimaced.

Alex scratched his head, taking the cake back, who knew what he did to it.

Night fell, it was late and it was felt that everyone was asleep, deep in their tiredness and dreams. He didn't know what crossed his mind, Pietro took his crutches.

Filling his lungs with fresh air at night sounded good, so Pietro did that, he would quickly return when he feel asleep.

So he came out, Pietro looked up, the stars clearly visible, twinkling in the sky, a small smile formed on his face. He turned his gaze the other way when he heard the sound of splashing water. Pietro approached her.
