The Claddagh

Scuff.

The ripping of their clothes.

Scratch.

The slow tearing of their delicate skin.

It felt eternal, having to bear the pain caused by what they call monsters.

Gentle skin inside their mouths bruised from abuse, from biting it too violently, too consistently.

The deeper they went in, the deeper their scars came out. The attacks launched at them became more powerful and the results reflected their enemies' strength.

As Naruto gripped the steering sticks deathly, he felt the hands wrapped around his waist press tighter. He was in pain. Sasuke was in pain. But they both knew they couldn't let go. They were in this together.

Naruto felt his airway become compressed. His body, shaking from the trembling body connected to him. He didn't know if Sasuke could hold on much longer. Neither did he know himself.

He didn't know how much longer they would have to push through. Were they still in the beginning? The end? The middle of it all?

It's stated. They say the eye of the storm is calm. Collected, beautiful and filled with blinding sights. Quiet and peaceful, so serene and filled with tranquillity. But behind every truth there's a lie. They were wrong.

No scholar is ever as factual as they say.

There's a lie in every man.

Sasuke and Naruto were a different case. The closed, tightened bag that held the lie darkened by the truth. The eye was horrible. So scandalous.

Painful. Made them want to give up so damn bad.

It wasn't peaceful. All a lie. The only peace they would have was when they would finally get out of this mess. Be temporarily free from these unknown alien beings.

One peculiar forceful assault by them made Sasuke curse out. They'd gotten his face. Painting his white, canvased cheek with a beautiful velvet stripe.

It hurt them.

It hurt them so much.

Physical pain wasn't the only thing killing Sasuke. It killed him to know that they might actually become killed in the process of not trying to be killed.

His metal state is killing him.  He doesn't want to be killed.

But he is.

His mental state. A critical mindset. The right one,

Dead.

His emotional state. His lack of confidence.

Little hope,
