Forget Me Not (A Midnight Story)

Chapter 11: Queen of the Night

Midnight kept watch over her friends she had knocked out earlier. While she was still focussed on defeating Suimakuma, she had to make sure her friends were safe until they came to.

After a few minutes, everybody slowly started waking up. Deku yawned and spread his arms out, "What? Huh? Is everyone ok?" Todoroki woke up, "Yes Deku, I think everybody is present and accounted for." Yaoyorozou groaned as she woke up, "What happened?". As she looked around, she could feel somebody's shadow. She looked behind her and saw that it was Midnight! "Miss Kayama!" she called out, "You-you came back!" Midnight nodded, "Mmm-hmm". Everybody got up and hugged her. After they let go, Midnight asked "Are you kids ok?" 

Momo responded, "We're safe, but you should probably get out of here, there's no telling what this demon lady is going to do next." Midnight reassured her, "I'll be ok. For now, you kids keep your heads down, I'll take it from here." 

"Now where's Suimakuma?" she asked while looking around, "She and I have some unfinished business to take care of!". Deku shook his head, "I'm not sure, I don't remember anything after she knocked us out." He noticed her arm and bruises, "Are you ok?" he asked. Midnight giggled, "Oh that's nothing! I've probably been through worse." Yaoyorozu created some gauze, "Here, take this, it should help a little." She took Midnight's arm and wrapped some bandaging around it. "Thank sweetheart." Midnight said.

Midnight got back down to business, "Now here's the plan, you guys stay where it's safe, I'll go stop Suimakuma." Todoroki warned her, "Wait a minute! Are you sure you can handle this? Suimakuma seems very dangerous to deal with." Midnight shushed him as she flirtatiously placed her finger on his lips, "Trust me, I can handle it. Her silly little lullabies have no effect on me." Deku lit up, "Oh, I get it! Sleep related quirks get cancelled out if the victim also has a sleep related quirk! That's so cool! Looks like you do learn something new everyday!"

At that moment, the doors opened. Spinner and Mr. Compress burst in. From upstairs, the door burst back open, "I'm ba-ack!" Toga called out as she burst free. The three villains surrounded the heroes, ready to punce. Momo whispered to Midnight, "You go on ahead, we'll take care of those creeps!"

As Midnight hurried on out, Spinner came charging right towards her. Deku jumped in the way and sent the lizard man flying backwards. Toga charged straight towards Yaoyorozu, knives drawn, but Todoroki sent a wall of ice up right in front of her, knocking her to the ground. Mr. Compress sent his shrink balls right towards Uraraka, only for her to grab a pipe and make it just light enough for her to hit. "Batter up!" she yelled, sending one of the balls right towards Spinner, trapping him inside. As he was distracted, Yaoyorozu formed a giant hammer and swung it right into the back of his head, knocking him out cold! "Nice work everyone!" Momo called, "I just hope Miss Kayama is safe." she thought to herself.

Meanwhile, Midnight hurried to find Suimakuma. She looked around for a while until spotting her from a distance. Suimakuma turned around and took off running after realizing she had company. Midnight gained pursuit and started chasing after Suimakuma. The runaway knocked over a few crates and metal drums to try to shake her off, but the R-Rated Hero still maintained pursuit. Midnight kept on chasing her down until she saw the demon lady entering the side of a building. Hoping to be able to pull a sneak attack on her, Midnight slammed through the front entrance instead.

As Midnight broke into the strange building, she could barely see where she was going, nor where Suimakuma was. "Alright Suimakuma," her voice echoed, "I know you're here! Show yourself, now!" but she could not hear an answer. Midnight investigated the area, "She couldn't have gotten that far'' she thought to herself.
