"Uraraka!" Iida called out, frantically waving his hand back and forth in such strict motions that mimicked the tone of his voice. "This trip was you plan and thus, it is your duty to uphold it and see it through! I cannot accept any tardiness from you!" he lectured, forcing Uraraka to rush out of her room. She was still in the middle of tying up her hair and her laces slithered about the floor, begging for her to slip on them and fall. Standing behind Iida was Deku, who was holding in a little laugh, a bright smile plastered on his face. She must've looked so silly!Just last week, Mina had told her about a fortune telling shop near the school where the owner has a future-viewing quirk.
"That mystical woman showed me my future and WOAH! Let me tell you, it's one heck of a party, that's for sure!" Mina boasted to the other Class 1A girls. They were all curious but none as much as Uraraka, who desperately wanted to know what becomes of her relationship with Deku in the future.
"So, Mina," she began, "what exactly did she show you? Did you see anything about us? How much does the lady's quirk show you? Do you thin—"
"Slowww down, cutie. Why are you so interested anyways, hmm?" Mina wiggled her eyebrows. Uraraka tried not to react but natural pink of her cheeks could not help but glow brighter at Mina's teasing. She stayed silent, if not for her pride but in fear that her tongue would betray her just like her face. Satisfied, Mina continued, "Well, you see, I can't tell you what I saw. The lady's quirk allows you to see ten minutes of your life exactly ten years from now... and well, it doesn't allow you to directly say what you saw."
Tsuyu looked at Mina, "Like, she doesn't recommend talking about it or your future will change? Or is it something else?"
"No, I literally can't say anything no matter how hard I try! The lady said that it's because even though my mind knows the future, my body hasn't experienced it yet., so I'm not physically capable of talking about something 'I' haven't physically processed yet! Ugghh, it's so confusing!!" Mina messed with her hair. "It's so complicated! Just go! It'll make more sense when you do!" She wrote the address down on the palm of Uraraka's hand with an orange pen she had lying around.
After thanking Mina and returning to her room, Uraraka immediately texted Deku and Iida, asking them if they could all go together to visit the fortune teller. It was perfect, she thought to herself. She could figure out everything she wanted to know without ever being able to reveal it to Deku or anyone else. Best of all, she wouldn't feel guilty about it! It's technically not a secret, as she couldn't tell anyone even if she wanted to. Yes, she internally cheered – this was her chance to set her mind straight once and for all...or so she thought.
It was the fated day in which she planned to figure things out, but it had already begun on a rough start. She was up all night, so nervous thinking about what her future awaited her that she overslept. She thought of how she might see a failed hero of a pink-cheeked girl in the future, or her growing-old and struggling parents, or Deku falling in love with another girl.
"Should I really be doing this?" Uraraka mumbled to herself as she walked in front of Iida and Deku, leading the way to the fortune teller. Both boys had turned down the offer to look into their futures but joined her anyways: Deku, to analyze the fortune teller's amazing quirk, and Iida, to insure safety in numbers with all that has been going on with the League of Villains and so forth.
"Do you think her quirk could help predict villain attacks and help prepare for future disasters? I know she must look into the future of a specific object or person but like, what if she looked into the future of the earth as a whole? Could she see all crime and chaos everywhere?" Deku chattered, his eyes sparkled with curiosity.
