A petite cottage stood shrouded in fog as the prolonged sound of thunder, rumbled and roared throughout the eerie house.
I am Hector Grey, the youngster of the household. Most days we get storms, they strike like a whip unexpectedly. August the 14th was different, it was also the day I will never forget.
The day appeared normal, the howling wind, pouring hail. Everything was as it should have been, apart from the uneasy feeling I got, it was as if I was being watched.
It wasn't long before I did discover my senses were right. I was there when the snarling green eyes pierced through my own with a threatening glare that meant trouble. My heart thumped like it was plummeting, and then everything went dark.
I awoke to the sounds of a soft splashing noise that echoed around me, not the sounds of rumbling that meant I was home.
"He's awake." A scratchy voice broke through my thoughts. My eyes widened through my blurry vision, there were two of them peering down at me, each had cold, sneery looks on their shallow faces.
I felt a sharp shove, and looking around I gasped, we were on a boat, water galloping around us. They pulled up onto the land and seemed preoccupied, I knew I only had one chance to get home, my legs unconsciously moved, numb and trembling, until I had escaped.
"Est-ce que ça va "are you okay?" A soft voice called out as my drowsy eyes filled with absolute terror and dread. Again, "d'ou viens?" "Where are you from?" I spoke, "E – England"
I knew I was in France, but I should have been in England, back home not here.
I met Jeff Noris soon after. He was peculiar at first and when he spoke, his accent was hard to understand but I knew he was saying "we friends, you were taken, Kidnappe?" he kept talking, Passing me some fresh water. "I -I am n not from h here."
"nous allons vous aider à la maison", "We will help you home"
Finally, I knew I was safe.
