[THE CHARACTERS IN THIS STORY BELONG TO THE CREATORS OF MHA, THE PLOT HOWEVER IS MINE BASED OFF OF SEVERAL DIFFERENT THEORIES]
What if Deku had a quirk?
The smell of smoke filled the air, my eyes watering from the putrid scent. My lungs felt like they were submerged in heat as I gasped for air. I shakily waved my arms through the heavy smoke layer to find my opponent, Kacchan. I could see the red in his eyes glowing through the grey air, the bloodlust sending shivers down my spine. I was holding myself up with every last ounce of power I had left; my body wasnt ready for the sudden fight. My heart pumped as I replayed a couple minutes ago in my mind. I dont know what came over him, he just attacked me.
We were just walking, side by side, on our way to go patrol the city. We were talking about our quirks. Then he looked at me, his stare was cold and murderous.
"Kacchan?" I asked him, the weight of anxiety rushing over me.
He didn't respond, his body turned to face mine and he started walking closer to me. I stumbled away as quick as possible, feeling wildly uncomfortable with the current situation.
"Kacchan what are you doing?" I asked again, still no response.
My eyes widened as I smelled caramel, the smell that burning nitroglycerin releases. Was the danger right behind me? I wondered, wanting to turn my head to check but I couldn't take my eyes off of him. A red light was flashing in my head, telling me I needed to get out of the way. In a blink of an eye I was up in the nearest tree as the concrete wall I was in front of was left with a ginormous hole.
The realization set in, he was trying to harm me. I thought we got over that a long time ago.
"I'm done Deku!" Kacchan yelled from the lower ground.
"I'm sick and tired of hearing about you and your dumb quirk! You wanna keep talking crap about how strong you're getting? Get down here and show me just how strong you are!"
A fight just to prove our strength doesn't sound like such a good idea. We've gotten into spars before that resulted in both of us receiving some pretty bad injuries. Now he wants to fight me full strength?
Crap. I wasnt paying attention.
Kacchan appeared behind me, kicking me in the back. I flung out of the tree and he followed. Just like every fight, he"s not going to give me time to formulate a plan, is he?
My back let out a horrifying crunch as I flattened on the cold ground.
"Get up, Deku." Kacchans words dripped venom. I could hear his footsteps coming towards me as I tried to regain my vision.
No time to recover, I have to move.
I sprung to my feet and began to dodge his incoming blows of flames. If I can find an opening, I just have to land one good punch.
That is if I could see him.
His consistent use of his quirk cause a lot of smoke to fill the air, he was concealing himself. None of my senses were working, my nose was burning, I was coughing, and my ears were ringing from the explosions. I had no way of tracking him, and by the time I noticed him-
*BOOM*
It was too late.
I blindly ran into the smoke, sending out air pulses, kicking anytime I felt the urge to. Eventually I would hit him, or at least startle him into stumbling out of the smoke cloud. I wound my fingers up to send an air pulse, attempting to move the smoke away and clear my vision. It worked, the smoke began to clear and I felt a small bit of relief. I cleared away a little more smoke, but behind that smoke-
"Boo."
Was Kacchan.
I flinched, waiting for him to make another move but he didn't. I scanned his body, all of his extra equipment was gone, it was just him.
Now was my chance.
I took off, sending a flying kick his way. Right before my shin impacted on his skull, he caught my leg, twisting it and slamming it on the ground. My left foot smashed into his face as I backed up, using Black Whip to attempt to restrain him. Kacchan grabbed the whips and shook them, the reverb flying back up into my arms sending me slightly up into the air.
It was time I gave it my all.
I hit him with everything I had; every quirk I could possible own, all of the strength my body could handle. I used shoot style, my trigger finger; I even tried to land a punch.
Nothing worked. He blocked it all and without his quirk at that. Maybe he was right, maybe he is more powerful that I am.
"Are you really giving up that easily? Pathetic. I haven't even started yet."
Now here I stand, leaning up on a rock, surrounded by the smoke he created. He's got me right where he wants me. I could hear him coming closer and I knew I should try to stop him but
I can't.
I can't defeat Bakugo.
None of my quirks are any match for his.
They were all right; Mirio should have been given One for All.
I should have just stayed quirkless, and then I never would have been put in this situation.
He finally came through the smoke and watched my struggle to lift myself back onto both feet.
"I'm sorry Kacchan. I'm sorry I couldn't give you the fight you wanted." I winced in pain as I placed my weight fully on my legs.
"You've been the best friend I could have ever asked for." I smiled, accepting the fate of if he strikes again I might die.
He lifted his arm, his hand started to glow, and I knew it was the end. I couldn't hear the blast, I couldn't smell the burning smell anymore, my lungs had inhaled so much smoke they were probably black. Yet I couldn't help but flinch when I saw it leave his hand.
My arms lifted, shielding my face as I closed my eyes tightly.
Yet the burn never came.
I opened my eyes to see the fire he had just sent my way warping to the sides of me. It wasn't touching me.
Kacchan's eyes squinted as he pushed harder, the fire still spoking out from my arms.
"What the-!" He stopped as we both stared at my arms in shock. There wasn't a single burn mark.
He sent a fireball my way as I stuck my arms out again, like I was catching a beach ball.
My eyes brightened as I saw the ball of fire, twisting and turning in my hands. I threw it at Kacchan, just as he did to me.
"How did you-?!" Kacchan yelled out before dodging the fireball completely.
Im manipulating fire; Im manipulating Kacchan's fire.
"I have a quirk." I whispered.
"What did you do Deku?!" Kacchan came storming towards me.
"I have a quirk Kacchan!"
"That's bull-!"
"I HAVE A QUIRK KACCHAN!" I screamed of excitement.
