𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐈𝐌 yellow light in the bathroom kept flickering, making a crackling sound erratically. A wet puddle of water formed on the cracked gray tiles from the swirling cold water in the bathtub. The blaring sound of the furious heavy rainstorm of the night was relatively impulsive.
A girl lies in the bathtub, soaking her body in the frigid water that feels like knives piercing her skin. Her dull blue eyes were lackluster and unblinking. Her pale face had a bruise over the left eye and a small fresh cut on the dry lips. Faint marks of evidence that someone must have strangled her were visible on her bare delicate neck.
Her bloodshot eyes start getting moist, and water forms in the corner of her eyes. A hot teardrop slides down her cheeks to her neck and then dissolves in the water. She stirs in the bathtub, pressing her eyes shut.
She stands up and with trembling hands reaches for the white towel nearby. Wrapping it around her body covered in bruises, she opens the bathroom door, holding the towel tightly with her left hand. With calculating steps, she walks forward. Her dull eyes condensed with menace.
It was a small apartment with two rooms and a kitchen. The color of the walls had faded, and another bucket sat in the corner of the living room, ensuring that the leaking drops from the ceiling did not dampen the floor. The living room had no esprit, it was rather vacant. A few used alcohol bottles were scattered on the floor beside the couch.
The girl walks past her parent's room, and the faint sound of their drunken laughter pierces through the thin wall. Rage quickens her blood and her calculated steps surged. Entering into her room, she comes out holding a gun. Her intentions remain obstinate as she clutches the knife.
"It has to be done." She whispered, glancing at her parent's room. Her eyes damped and she blinked the tears away, stepping closer to her parent's room with perseverance. "I have to kill them."
It is the only way to be unbound.
