I used to think

You were the sun

And I the moon.

You were bright

And happy-

An unfaltering energy,

You lit up my life just by existing.

I was the moon,

An ever-changing entity

Surrounded by inky darkness.

But at the end of our universe

I know that I am the sun

and you are the moon.

I am stable.

I rise and set every day,

As an auto pilot motion

Alone in the sky.

You are the moon.

Sitting gracefully in the night,

Covering your face each evening in a new way.

Surrounded by beautiful stars

A sky full of your friends.

How different does the end look

Between the night

And the day.
