THE DAY BEFORE the ball the trio of powerful witches had rescued Enzo from Augustine and had met Davina. Davina's mother was blackout drunk when they found the girl so Ravenna compelled the woman to tell everyone she was going to permanently live with family because she gave up looking after her daughter.
At the moment they were all huddled in Ravenna's room. Kai and Enzo were lounging on Ravenna's bed while the three girls were looking at dresses they had bought. Freya had popped downstairs to bring up some snacks.
"Chose the red one, darling," Enzo commented to Davina as she held up two in front of them.
Davina smiled, "Thank you."
Ravenna came out of her closet in a deep green dress. It had rhinestones at the neckline that shimmered in the lights of her room, "Is it pretty?"
"You look fine, Ravenna," Freya said coming in, "I just had a really weird conversation with Klaus."
"What'd he say?" Ravenna asked.
"He asked me what was wrong with you and if his home was a hotel. Apparently, our presence annoys him," Freya replied, "Then he said we need to leave."
"He's gonna get a piece of my mind," Ravenna stormed out of her room, still in her dress, to find her little brother. She didn't even get close to Klaus as she bumped into Finn."
"Is that your dress for the ball? You look beautiful," he commented.
"Thank you."
"Actually I wanted to talk with you about something. Is that all right?"
"Of course," Ravenna exclaimed. She led them into a room, "What is it?"
"A few days after our awakening, Mother asked to speak to me. She told me that we were abominations and that we shouldn't exist. I can't help but think it's true," Finn expressed; sorrow shining in his eyes. Ravenna frowned and pulled her younger brother into a hug.
"You are anything but an abomination Finn. Just because we have fangs and bloodshot eyes it doesn't mean we don't deserve to live. You especially. You are kind and caring," Ravenna replied. Finn sighed in her embrace.
"What do I do? She asked me to be her sacrificial lamb."
"You let me handle it. Don't do anything." They parted and she smiled at him, "Now where are our siblings. I have to give Nik a piece of my mind."
"They're in the living room getting tailored for the ball," Finn responded. She only then noticed his attire.
"Good. Also, the haircut suits you," she smiled before speeding downstairs, "Nik!"
"Yes sister?"
"How dare you tell my friend that she and the others have to leave," she declared, her hands resting on her hips.
"This is not a kennel Ravenna," Klaus rolled his eyes. He hated waking up only to see one of Ravenna's friends in the kitchen snacking on the food he had bought.
"Well, it should be. You're half a puppy," Ravenna replied.
"So are you!" Klaus shot back.
"I'm a third." She flicked her hand and the bourbon he was holding, sloshed out of the glass and onto his face. Rebekah and Kol laughed while Elijah tried to keep his decorum and tried to suppress it, but ultimately failed.
Ravenna had told her siblings about her extra abilities the day before. To say they were shocked was an understatement. Kol was slightly creeped out that she could read his mind and she only responded with what are you thinking of that I should not be listening.
"My friends stay," she glared at him one last time before going back upstairs.

The same evening, when everyone had gone to bed, darkness engulfed the house. One lone light stood out in the corridor. Ravenna had placed a silencing spell on herself so that she could do what she was about to do with no one knowing.
She walked soundlessly into the room and coughed lightly. Esther jumped, whirling around with a hand on her heart, "Heavens, Ravenna you almost gave me a heart attack."
"Sorry," she replied.
She was most definitely not sorry.
She glanced around the room curiously. Paintings littered the burgundy walls and lamps were lit. Every crevice of darkness was non-existent.
She sat down on a comfy chair, next to Esther, that matched the dark red decor. She glanced at Esther who was looking at her.
"What are you doing up this late Ravenna?"
"Couldn't sleep."
"Would you like some herbs to help?"
"No thank you. I can't sleep due to thoughts, not insomnia. Thought of...interesting things."
"Like."
"How you want to kill me and my siblings and use your oldest son as your sacrificial lamb," Ravenna spoke carelessly. Esther's heartbeat sped up.
"I do not know what you are talking about."
"Don't lie to me, Esther. It's getting old," Ravenna replied picking up a pencil.
"I'm not lying. Why would you think this Ravenna?"
"Probably because Finn told me," Ravenna inspected the pencil as if it were the most interesting thing in the world, "Pencils are trivial things aren't they."
"Excuse me?" Esther was confused. One moment her daughter had spoken of her plan and now she was talking about a pencil.
"They have no importance besides drawing and... other things."
"Like what?"
Ravenna glanced up at her and flicked the pencil, "Murder." The pencil had embedded itself in Esther's throat; said woman was now choking on blood. Ravenna stood, "Make this the last time you come back from the dead Esther. Do yourself a favour. No one wants you here. Especially if you're just going to try and kill us."
Ravenna exited the room flicking the light and engulfing the house in silence and darkness.
