Jessica Wilson had recently bought a treehouse for nostalgia and was already hearing a knock on the door. She opened it and found Thorne, whom she had first met on her Portal hall adventures. Thorne still looked the same as when she was first encountered. Her skin was still white, her floorlength black hair still messy, and she hadn't changed out of her hobo clothing. She still wore the shitty blindfold.

"Hi, Thorne. Are you coming in?" asked Jessica.

"Not only that, Jessica, I want you to adopt me until we find the legendary adventurer Jack. I heard about him willy-nilly ever since coming to this world. I was only pretending not to know about portals. I always knew. In fact, the one thing I fear the most is science fiction stories because they ruin portals." replied Thorne.

"First things first, you need a bath. And a hair brush. There's so much oil in your hair, and it's so tangled." Jessica said calmly.

As Thorne was getting ready for the bath, Jessica noticed something about the child's eyes. They were not scarred, and showed no evidence of a vampire attack. Had the four-year-old been lying through her small teeth?

"Of course, I was only pretending to be blind. What kind of a fool covers his/her/their eyes after being blinded?" Thorne confirmed. She then continued "I wear the blindfold to see in the dark, it's more efficient than potions because I don't wanna waste gold on a stupid carrot when there's netherite."

"I figured as much." said Jessica.

Thorne got in the bath, and it started filling with black stuff, as her hair was becoming a dark green. "I painted my hair black" she said.

When Thorne got out of the bath, Jessica noticed that the former's skin was yellow. She must have painted it white to hide jaundice. Jessica also noticed that Thorne had pointy fairy ears. And on her back...were those angel wings?

"I'm an Angel Fairy. I died when my evil twin sister Chara made a huge cut in my skin and extracted the immune system from my liver. The resulting jaundice caused my skin to turn yellow, and caused me to die. I was brought back in this form, with the ability to cause illusions. In fact, my dress and pants weren't actually eaten by rats, they are perfectly intact." After Thorne said this, she lifted the illusion from her clothes, put them back on as they had been washed in the washing machine, and sighed.

"By the way," said Jessica, "you never told me your real name."

"Charlotte." was the reply.

"That makes sense." said Jessica. "And your true backstory explains that huge scar."
