The titles will be over the blurbs/poems if there is one.

STAIRWAY TO NOWHERE
Steps blackened with age
Banister half finished
Or half destroyed
Filmy with dust
Endless dark looming
Waiting at the top of the stairs
Black shadows creep silently up
Imagining their past grandeur
In a room now broken
They slide over ripped carpeting
And splintered wood
To disappear
Into nowhere

THUNDERSTORMS
Do you feel it as its crawling
As it rumbles low, like a growl
The colours shirk as dark clouds lurk
It's a lion on the prowl

His voice echoes through my chest
My heart a steady beat
The missing rains from African plains
Come to wash away the heat

The lion opens his mouth to roar
An earth-shaking noise erupts
His fangs shine bright, a flash of light
Beautiful, uncorrupt

He's of the sky, a darkened King
Mane blocking out the sun
The sound we hear, it can strike fear
In the heart of anyone

Rolling over homes and cities
He exhales another roar
His bright eyes gleam, and it may seem
This lion is at war

A flash of electricity
Ends his reign right overhead
He moves away, in search of pray
This lion must be fed

The rain, it slows, and then it stops
Deep razors give way to dawn
Claw and tooth shine, although divine
We're glad that they are gone

GIRL
Yes. I am a girl
Yes. I sometimes cry durning movies
Yes. I care about my looks
Yes. I'll sometimes spend hours on my hair
Yes. I can be 'moody'
Yes. Breaking a nail matters
But some people don't realize...
Yes. I can love sports too
Yes. I'll get down and dirty if I have to
Yes. Chipped nail polish won't keep me from clawing your eyes out
Yes. Bugs can be cool
Yes. Hard work is always an option
Yes. I can have muscles too
Yes. I am a girl
But that won't stop me from being a man

DO YOU?
Do you ever notice the way
The light and shadows dance and play
On the nursery room wall?

Have you noticed the ballet
Autumn leave make on their way
From tree to earth as they fall?

Do you look for long grass fairies
As you're walking through the prairies
To see if you can join the fun?

Have you ever noticed how
Colours bend their shapes and bow
In the early morning sun

How about all the stars that shine
Like your eyes so genuine
Tell me, what would you do

If I asked if you'd notice the smile
On my face that would stretch for miles
If you would agree to say 'I do'?

SOME PEOPLE see a setback as a sign to give up. Others see it as a reason to try harder.

PEOPLE WHO crush your dreams hate fun. People who hate fun hate it because it never invited them out to play.
