Reeve: First Person
Hello, my name is Reeve Bradly, I am 26 years old, and I was born in Canada. I am currently suffering from the effects of an incurable disease just living on borrowed time. At least what is what the doctor says about my condition and that they do very little until the cure is found.
My hospital dorm isn't anything special besides a pot of flowers brought by my parents. The machines keeping me alive filled the room with an annoying beeping noise, in which, I started to ask myself...what is the point? I already know that the cure isn't going to be made in time to save me as it was just recently discovered a couple of months ago.
I took this moment to reflect on my past where I was a pro-duellist winning both local and sponsored tournaments until I suddenly got violence sick and well...here I am, smiling through the ages but now...maybe I should close my eyes for good.
I already accepted my fate and I don't want to become a massive burden to my parents. So I manually sabotage the machine keeping me alive before drifting away from reality for good.
So that is it...at least what was the general idea until I woke up within a ruined church. When I woke up, I started to examine my surroundings before staring at the most notable thing in the room which was the angel statue tied up to a wooden cross.
My eyes were amazing as such beautiful and craftsmanship as the dress is very detail alongside her figure when suddenly it started to speak. "Greetings, Reeve Bradly."
I was completely caught off guard and thought that my mind was playing some tricks on me. "What? Who are you and did you know my name?"
"It is quite simple as I am a goddess that overlooks multiple realms and realities."
This is a joke? Am I being Isekai into a different world? "This seems like a joke but...at the same time, it isn't. May I ask, why me?"
"You were chosen due to your talents within duelling as I want you to become an apostle for this new world."
I was taken back by her statement "Wait, what does duelling have to do with the overall subject and an apostle? Tell me, what this new world you are talking about?"
"That is because you be reborn within a world where duelling is a common way of life, in fact, you already have an anime that showed the future of this world named Yugioh Arc V."
Yugioh Arc V...have I watched it? Yes of course I did. The early episodes were pretty good... it's just a shame that the quality started to suffer as it went along with plot points being abandoned, characters being shafted especially the females, rushed finale and pointless arcs. "Ok...I think I am getting a general idea. I am going to be 'reborn' into this world before the war and that...actually I ask, what is my mission?"
"Your mission is to bring out of the new future and prevent Zarc from being awakened to his true form, but do not worry as I shall be present throughout your journey."
"That is kind of creepy not going to lie but what about my cards? Is there going to be a point system or something like that?" I asked with a curious tone as I did read a fanfiction where they had collected points on winning duels or completing missions.
"None of that, you will have access to all cards within the game and all of your decks in your previous life. If you wish to save a deck, all you need to do is just press onto its deck and say 'save deck' name in which it is pulled into a pocket dimension and if you wish to load a deck, you just need to think or say 'load deck' then name. But don't worry, I can make them appear within your hands if needed if this is too hard to remember.
