"Remember to call us when you can"

"Don't get in trouble"

"We love you"

The sound of my parents faded away with the car engine. They were gone and I was officially alone. I was now at the best boarding school in the country 'Royal Academy of Britain'. It had the best teachers from around world. The school was very prestige and was known everywhere in the UK.

It was even friends with Oxford, one of the top universities. And nearly everyone who went here ended up there or at Cambridge. I couldn't believe I was considered smart enough to be here.

I was given a piece of paper with a map of how to get to the head teacher, who would show me my dorm room. But I felt like an ant in a haystack. The school was massive. It was very old and was built around the time when boys and girls were taught separately. They don't do that now, but the buildings did had the carved in writing of 'GIRLS' and 'BOYS' above different buildings, giving you that olden day feel.

I felt so out of place. As I looked around, everyone looked immaculate and like they came from very wealthy families. I was only there because of a scholarship. What if people treated me worse than the ones at my old school?

I decided to stop thinking about them, and think about where on earth the office was. I wanted to ask somebody but I was too shy.
All of sudden while I was walking , I collided with something solid. All my stuff fell on the ground and I muttered a sorry.

"Oh my gosh don't be sorry I'm sorry I should have watched where I was going like I'm such a clumsy person and-"

"It's okay" I interrupted "I'm clumsy too"

The girl in front of me had dark brown hair in a ponytail, and was holding a potato.

"Is that a..."

"Potato? Yeah it is" the strange girl carried on eating it while staring at me.

We just started at each other for a moment.

"Don't worry, it's cooked! That would be really weird if it wasn't"

"Erm..yeah" I laughed. I was starting to like her.

"Oh sorry, let me help you" she bended down to help pick up my stuff and gave it to me, smiling.

"Ah, that as a map isn't it" she said pointing to my map.

"Yeah, it is. I'm new"

"Hi new, I'm Sasha" she laughed.

"I'm Armin" I smiled. "Could you help me find the office?"

"Sure, everyone gets lost on their first day. This place is massive" she surprised me by linking arms with me, and we started walking towards the building. The place had a very nicely kept garden, and the place was surrounded by students studying, and talking.

"So why did you decide to come here?" She asked me as we walked round a building.

"Because it's the best in the country. And I wanted a change from home. Too many bad memories. And my school was rubbish" she nodded her head like she understood.

"Hope you know what you're getting yourself into"

"What, Is everyone required to eat potatoes here?" We laughed. As we entered the building I gasped, the hallway was massive and looked like it went on forever. It looked like if we kept walking, we'd reach the end of the world.

"It's big isn't it?"

"I think that's an understatement" I said in awe. It had a very tall ceiling and marble floor. Just then, a boy with a nearly shaved head came running towards us.

"Sashaaaaaa!!" He called, running up and hugging her. I was stuck in an awkward position as I still had my arm linked in hers. I awkwardly remove my arm and stepped back. The boy turned to face me and I smiled, but he frowned at me.

"Who's he?" He asked skeptically.

"I'm Armin, hi"

"Yeah ok" he replied, as if he couldn't be any less uninterested. Sasha playfully hit him on the arm.

"Connie, be nice. Armin is new here and I'm helping him find the office" Connie pouted while she said it.

"What, he couldn't find it himself?" He asked while linking arms with Sasha where my arms previously were. Connie had already started to make me feel intimidated. But then I realized.

"Ohh, are you guys like....."

"Well..." Connie started.

"No! No way! Me and Connie, what? I mean he's Connie. No offense I love you but like, well, like, I love you like a goldfish. Oops no I meant-"

"That's okay. I'll see you later" Connie looked sad as he walked away.

"Ugh I always mess stuff up" Sasha sighed in frustration.

"Why don't you just tell him you like him?"

"I don't-" she stopped as she realized it was too late, I had already caught on. "Ok yes I do. But I just don't know how. Oh well let's just find the office"

The thought of meeting the principle made me feel like butterflies were flying in my stomach. Hopefully the head likes me because I need to stay here, to fulfill seeking my great perhaps.
