"Good luck" Sasha whispered to me in front of the office. "Remember, just say yes to everything you she says. You'll do fine" she gave me a thumbs up and left. I was officially alone again. I softly knocked on the door.
"Come in" called a voice that sounded feminine. I nervously pushed open the door to an office bigger than my house. The large desk in the middle looked new and expensive. And instead of wallpaper, was bookcases filled with books from the floor to the ceiling. Living in a place like this would be my dream. I absolutely love reading, it helps me escape.
"Amazing isn't it" said a voice coming from the right of me.
"Yes, it's bigger than my house" I said in awe.
The head teacher looked nothing like I thought she would. She was a petite lady, with blonde hair in a bun and had a fringe. She had blue eyes, and looked like she was in her 30's. She was leaning against the bookcase with a book in her hand called 'The Language of flowers.'
"What's your book about?" I surprised myself with my sudden courage.
"A girl who communicates through the language of flowers, and meets her true love. Its one of my favorites actually. Encouraged me to do the same thing"
"Meet your true love?"
She laughed, and I immediately went red. Why would I ask that?
"No. To communicate through flowers." She put down the book, and picked up what looked like a flower. She walked towards me and handed it to me.
"Urm" I awkwardly took the flower. "thanks...?"
"it means welcome"
I smiled at her as I took the flower and put it in my pocket.
"You will be welcome here Armin" I smiled at her again.
"But only, if you follow the rules" I should have known their was a catch. She seemed way too nice.
"Lights out after 10:30"
"Yes miss"
"No stealing, fighting, or smoking"
"Yes miss"
"No sleeping in girls rooms. No girls in your room after 8, vice versa. Don't disrespect teachers, cinema room only available on Saturday, do all of your homework to the best standard, if you're ill call the nurse in the morning, calls to parents only allowed on Fridays and weekends, if you join animal care for goodness sakes close the rabbit hatch, if you do not make it to breakfast promptly, you will go without food.Assembly's on Tuesday at 9 don't be late, and if you wish to attend church on a Sunday, it starts at 8"
"Urm...yes miss?"
"Any questions?" She raised her eyebrows at me.
"Er-"
"No, great. You're room is 218. Second floor, 18th room. Don't be late to class tomorrow, now off you go"
I just stood there trying to take everything in, and slowly went to leave the room.
"By the way Armin" she called. I turned around to her.
"Good to have you here. Remember, don't mix with the wrong crowd, or you won't last here"
I gulped and nodded at her, then exited the room. I had no idea where Sasha was, so I just walked around aimlessly outside. A garden of flowers caught me eye and I walked over to them. I softly stroked the flowers, while taking in their scent. I much rather be outside with nature, than with people.
There was a beautiful pathway that led to a quiet area. I walked down it and sat down, in peace. No students, perfect. I made a mental note to go there again.
As I went in my bag to get my book, I saw a foot next to me and jumped in shock.
"I see you've stolen my hiding spot"
