Tira's POV
"Hey Nat!" Emma said as she opened the door to the music room. He stopped playing and looked up at us with a smile.
"What are you guys doing here?" He asked, dusting himself off. He stopped and looked at Derrick.
"You must be Derrick. I heard a lot about you," Nat said, not smiling anymore. I was chilling between Ray and Derrick, stress smiling. Do ghosts even have stress? Because I sure do feel it right now.
"Yeah, I heard that you're the musical genius here." I blink a couple of times in surprise along with everyone else. Why does he sound so... normal? Did he really give a compliment? Maybe not since that's how Ray described Nat, but I didn't think Derrick would say it.
"Yeah..."
"Nat you should play us something!" Emma cut in, trying to bring the mods out of whatever this was. Nat seemed to snap back from it and nodded.
"I've been working on Étude Op. 10 No. 4."
"You should play it for us," Norman said with that famous Norman smile.
"Are you sure? It's not that good."
"Yeah! Anything you play will sound great, even if there is a mistake!" Don encouraged. Nat smiled and took a deep breath. I could see Derrick tensing up as Nat positioned his hands above the keys.
DUNNNNNNNN
I saw Derrick's world just change from his eyes. He stared at Nat who continued playing like there was no one there, but what else did I expect from him?
When the piece ended Nat sighed.
"I sped up too much during the last few measures, the forte wasn't forte enough, and I missed a note," he mumbled, going back to the sheet music and scribbling down the notes.
Derrick suddenly started talking to Nat, saying that it was amazing and whatnot. Everyone seemed really surprised and I smiled.
They should be fine now.
I floated over outside where Phil and the gang were getting into the car. I got in along with them and sat next to Jessica. She looked over at me and stared for a second before turning her attention to telling the driver where to turn.
"So Phil is getting a pendulum and what about you two?!" Sarah asked excited, bouncing up and down in her seat.
"Should we all get pendulums?" Eitan asked. Sarah's eyes sparkled and she nodded faster than when she stopped crying because they couldn't commit crimes. Come to think of it, isn't she sad she can't do it anymore since she's, well, here?
"Yes yes yes! Get them!"
"Do we just pick any pendulum?" Johnathan asked.
"You need to feel it." Phil tilted his head in confusion and I squealed. He looked so adorable!
"Feel it? Like an energy?"
"Exactly! Or you can ask, either way is fine. But make sure to tell it to show you 'yes' and 'no' first."
We got to the crystal shop and Sarah rushed in, dragging Phil along. She skidded to a stop in front of these pendulums with pretty chains and I.
Was.
Obsessed.
"This is so cute?!" I shouted, floating into the rack so I could see all the options.
"Which one do you feel is calling you?" Sarah asked, rocking back and forth on her heels as every adult in the shop stared at her and Phil.
"I don't know..."
"Come on Phil! Try!" Phil looked around at the pendulums as I did too.
"Oooh! This one is pretty!" I said, touching a clear one with a weird pendent thing on the end of the chain.
"That one!" Phil suddenly said loudly.
"Which one?" Sarah asked excited as Eitan and Johnathan walked over.
"The clear one with the weird thing on the end of its chain!"
