- Enough!!!  –  Zewu-Jun's voice rang in the hall.

Both Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng took a step back.

Wei Wuxian sighed deeply, mumbling under his nose:

- Gods!  I thought the room was going to explode! You two are acting like Juniors! Shame on you!

- Wei Qianbei is right. – Lan Xichen rose from his seat and spoke after waiting for them to take back their seats.

He looked stern and formidable, the tallest of them all, towering in the sun-lit hall. Everybody listened; Jiang Cheng bit his lip and blushed.

- Wangji, -  he turned to his brother first. –  I appreciate your concern. I know that you love me, and want to protect me... Please, don't think that I have not considered all the things you mentioned, multiple times. But comparing these two... relationships... is like comparing a summer's night and a winter's day. Please know that I am happy. I know that happiness comes at a price, as do you. I am ready to fight for my love.

- Wanyin... -  he now leaned in to kiss his husband's cheek, and spoke, staring into his eyes, and Jiang Cheng couldn't help but think that this was the way a groom would look into his bride's eyes at their wedding. He stared, mesmerized, flushed and breathless.

- Husband, I want to thank you for the way you are ready to fight for me, and defend me. Once again you have proven your love for me, not that I am doubting it. You have already won my heart and my trust, darling. It is yours; my heart belongs to you. Fully.  –  he murmured gently.

Lan Xichen sat back down elegantly, and finally turned to Wei Ying:

- Master Wei, I would also like to thank you for being the coolest and wisest person in this room. Wangji, I am disappointed in you.

The last sentence made Lan Zhan blush, but in his heart he still believed he was right.

- Ah, Zewu-Jun, I am just used to dealing with children's fights!  –  Wei Wuxian grinned.  –  Let's eat! I am starving! Too much drama for just a couple of hours!  –  he puffed.

No one laughed at his joke, but he didn't mind  –  he crawled closer to his husband and kissed his cheek to pacify him and calm him down. Lan Wangji huffed and pulled him in, so that they sat together now, eating together too, kissing and whispering to each other.

Jiang Cheng glared, annoyed, but soon his own husband pulled him in an embrace, and murmured in his ear:

- Are you alright, my love? I wish you didn't have to go through all this... at least not today... You are still so weak...

- I now understand what you meant, darling.  -  Jiang Cheng said, frowning. –  I wish we were alone again... We will have to endure those fools for weeks now, and I am not sure the birthday celebration will do any good for our nerves... I just want peace, Huan...  -  he looked up at him, his eyes begging.

Lan Xichen smiled.

His Sandu Shengshou had changed so much. It was a cozy, warm feeling, the way the two of them agreed on almost everything now.

He whispered:

- I will try to leave the party to Wei Wuxian... We could run away together, love? What do you think?  –  he smiled gently.

- Ditching our own birthday party? I love it, Zewu-Jun!  –  he grinned. Then he suddenly gasped as he remembered the day. –  Happy birthday, my love... I love you, Zewu-Jun...  -  he murmured, blushing.

Lan Huan leaned in more, letting his hair slide down and cover them up; he whispered:

- And my birthday present, Jiang Wanyin?

- I remember, Lan Huan...  -  Jiang Cheng whispered back, panting and opening his mouth.

Their hug got tighter again, and  –   awfully pressed to each other, breathless  –  they kissed deeply and slowly, ignoring the world completely.
