The Robot Headteacher

The First Day

As April walked down the paths to the school, she felt nervous. What if no one liked her? What if she did everything wrong? What if she was too stupid and didn't learn anything? These thought faded away as she entered the school. The atmosphere changed. It was so loud she couldn't hear her own thoughts. Even the teachers couldn't stop the riot.

The noise stopped so suddenly like a deer in headlights. Everyone stiffened and didn't move a muscle. April was confused. Why did everyone stop like that? Then she saw. She got her answer. There, in the middle of the stage, stood a bald man, wearing a smart suit. Just standing there, he looked scary. Everyone sat down in their seats, including April. Everyone trembled, fearing what he would do next.

"Welcome to Willow High. My name is Mr Miles and I am your headteacher." he said with a creepy, stern voice. He started talking about school and stuff and finally he dismissed everyone. The teachers started to divide everyone into sets. There was Set 1,Set 2,Set 3,Set 4 and Set 5.April got into Set 1.She was astonished she was in top set.

When she got to her form room, which the teachers showed them, she and her class were put into a seating plan. April sat next to a girl called Clare Robinson. Their form tutor, who was called Mr Roberts, told them what form was and gave out timetables which had the map of the school with the classes labelled on them on the back." Now go off to your lessons." he said. April looked at her timetable which said her first class was Computing, in Class 3,in the IT Block. "Wow!" she thought as she saw how big the school was on the map." This would take a long time to get used to".
