The God, the one everyone worshipped so much, was being hunted. She ran as far as she could and went into hiding, not knowing what she did wrong. What was it she did that made her people rebel against her? She didn't know, but what she did know is that she had to run away to stay safe. So she ran to a place where no one would find her, and stayed there until it was safe.
