"Have a seat babygirl. I ordered your favorite. Ham omelette with jalepeno." Miranda's father said as they sat. "Thanks dad" she stated. They talked and ate for sometime. Alot of memories came up that hour. They went for yogurt a few doors down. Then a walk in the park. When he suddenly said "I have a surprise for you. Can I take you on a ride?" Miranda shook her head yes as she slurped down her delicious treat. As a child her father would always take her on a ride when she was upset. So this was well needed since she felt like her life was throwing curve balls by the minute. As they drove Miranda wondered where they were going. Pulling into a neighborhood she thought. Is daddy moving back home. Does he want me to help him pick a house. Her smile was ear to ear. That was until they stopped. She noticed they were In front of her mother's home. "Why are we here" she turned to him and snapped. Her father grabbed her hand "your mother tells me you are still upset with her for filling divorce years ago. I think its time to make amends don't you think." Miranda bowed her head "how am I suppose to believe in always and forever when she gave up on you." Her father lifted her head. "Its time you know all the facts. I gave up on always and forever way before your mother had to. My success went to my head sweetheart. I was not being a good man to her. You have to forgive her. Our failed marriage was my fault. Not hers." Miranda burst into tears "but why daddy? Why? I don't understand. Mama was good to you, wasn't she?" Miranda's father wiped her tears "too good. Now its time I do her some good." They walk to the front door. When her mother answered she hugged her tightly. "mama I'm so Sorry. I have been horrible. Forgive me." Tears began to fall from her mother's face as well "I was never mad at you. Good things always come around." They all sat in talking and rekindling this broken relationship for hours. Night fell and her father stated he had to return to the hotel. Once Miranda was home she sat in her thoughts. Feeling like she just didn't want to be alone she dialed out. No answer. She tried again. No answer. I guess it's just me and some soft tunes tonight. She dim the lights in her home. Made some snacks. Laid across the floor and daydreamed. Wondering what she could do to get her love life in order. She woke up the next morning on that very same floor with crumbs all around. Music still playing. The day was slow she mostly spent it eating more junk watching TV. The next weekend arrives and she makes it to the bar Franklin sung at. He is not in sight. She sat at the bar drinking until she heard the host say "and now one of our returning acts. Coming to lift our spirits. He is here to sing a cover of "what a friend we have in Jesus" the crowd applaud. Then the voice began to serenate the room. "Franklin" Miranda whispered as she turned to see him singing like an angel.
