A Memory

The conversation

It was 12pm. They were on the terrace
Elijah: Flair, see its too late. Go and sleep.
Flair: I know Lij but please for few minutes, can you walk with me. Please please please nah..

Though he was too tired to even stand but after seeing her cute puppy face, he agreed to walk with her for sometime.
They started walking holding each other's hand.
Suddenly..

Flair: Lij (in a mild voice as if she's about to cry)..?
Elijah: Yes..
Flair: I am so scared (a tear falls from her eyes)..
Elijah: Hey.. what happened? Are you ok?
He makes her to sit there and cupped her face with his hands.

Elijah: Now just tell, what happened?
Flair: I am scared to go back. I dont know how i will do all the work. I am just so confused. I just... (and starts crying)
Elijah: (he hugged her mildly) Hey! Dont cry. Crying will never bring a solution to any problem.
Flair: Hmm. But i hate this life.
Elijah: See, if you will go then only you can come back, right? Dont you wanna be with me?
Flair: She nodded. (he wiped the tears from her eyes)
Elijah: Ok, lemme do something for you. Just close your eyes.
Flair: But why..??
Elijah: Just do it, nah.. Dont you trust me?
Flair: Ok.... (she closed her eyes).
Elijah: Dont open your eyes. Now just feel the cool breeze. Isn't it so soothing?
Flair: Hmmmmm.
Elijah: (he kisses her forehead) you are so sweet.
Flair: (she blushes and gets the goosebumps) ahuh...
Elijah: Stay calm (he holds her firmly and kisses her lips)..

Flair just opens her eyes and pushes him away.
Flair: Its not fair. I told you nah that we won't unless... leave, you'll never understand. (starts crying and runs down stairs to her room)

Elijah just stands there seeing her going. He called her. But she didnt turned and just ran. He just then messages her..
'I am Sorry. I just wanted to calm your mood. Sorry😔..'

Flair messaged him back.
'Forget everything that happened and sleep. You have to go to work tomorrow. Sleep, now..'

Elijah..
'My head is aching so bad and its hard to sleep without you.'

Flair..
'Take a Paracetamol and sleep.
Dont worry. You'll get used to it. Good night..'

That night both were not able to sleep. Morning when Flair put on her phone, a message was there from Elijah 'its hard to sleep'.
She messaged back..
'it was same for me also'..

After sometime she messaged him again and said..
'By 11 I'll go back and you won't be there. You'll be busy. Take care. Time and situations are not good as the pandemic is still there. And i know that I have to be more cautious still its my responsibility to tell you this. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Will miss you in bunch. Loads and loads of love.'

He messaged back..
'Sure. And sorry about the last night. Take care. Do everything properly.. Washing hands, masks and everything.. I am just a call away. Hugs.. will miss you more. Come soon'

She just send the smiley😊 in reply..

Until then it was their last conversation. Both were upset but they never showed it out.
