Chapter 6: Jealous

Ghostly tears streaked down Louis’ cheeks. This was about to be the biggest fight of our lives.

“I knew this was bound to happen…” Louis said shakily. His hands were balled into fists and I think that if he could he would’ve taken a swing at me and/or Cam. He looked at Cam with hatred in his eyes. “This is your fault. Everything was fine until you showed up.”

Came cowered backwards fearing Louis’ otherworldly anger.

“I-I-I…” Cam was struggling even more. He was flustered, confused and scared. None of this was his fault and Louis had just come at the wrong time and now he was about to start an unnecessary argument and drag Cameron into the dysfunctional mix.

“Leave him alone, Lou.” I said storming up to them both. “He hasn’t done anything. I haven’t done anything!”

“You’re sticking up for him now? Is he your new boyfriend?” He spat. “I know that I can’t do the normal things a boyfriend can like hold you or even just touch you but it’s not my fault. It’s not my fault I’m fucking dead.” Louis shouted. Like a scared child I sunk to the ground in tears.

“Don’t shout at me!” I cried. Cameron rushed to my side to check if I was alright but he didn’t dare touch me.

“I have a right to shout at you, Haz. I can’t believe you did this to me. This is your fault why I’m even here right now!”

Everything seemed to freeze. Even Louis seemed to regret the words that had just come out of his mouth. “H-Harry, I didn’t mean it like that. I know it’s not—”

“No, you blame me for your death. Its fine, I blame myself too. I was driving and I guess I could have stopped it somehow but it’s too late. You’re no longer with me…in person. Maybe in spirit but that’s not enough for us both. We both need what we can’t have. I need the old Louis – the one who was funny and caring and never made me cry and you need the old Harry and the old life we have and the ability to see your family and have them see you too.” I bawled.

“Harry…” Louis stopped not exactly sure what to say. He knew I was right and he couldn’t counteract what I’d just said. “I love you, Harry.”

“I love you too but I can’t believe you would think I’d cheat on you.”

I got up off the floor and stood in front of Louis. “I wanted to make a new friend and I was helping him with his stuttering problem and he gave me a hug. If this was a girl would you be as jealous?”

“Yes!” Louis said strongly. “Of course I would. Harry, you are gorgeous and no matter what it seems like everyone is always after you. I just don’t want you to realise that I’m nothing too you anymore because if you don’t want me I have nowhere to go.”

“You’ll always be everything to me. It’s my love that brought you back. You came back because of the love we have for each other.” I smiled through watery tears.

“I know you think that, Haz but I’m just having a tough time with all of this.” Louis sighed. Before I could ask for the reason why he wasn’t coping or ask if he even forgave me Louis just evaporated into thin air once again. This was becoming a reoccurring problem and if he kept doing this we would never sort out our issues.

I looked to see Cameron standing a few feet behind me. He had been caught up in our stupid argument and now he didn’t know what to do.

“Cam, maybe you should go. I’ll see you later maybe during the hour activity.”

Cam nodded and left the piece of paper he was previously writing on on-top of my pillow. He waved to me as he walked out and once he closed the door I flopped onto the bed my head crumpling the paper underneath me. I picked it up to see that Cam had written something else.

‘Harry, from the moment I saw you in One Direction I really liked you but I think you being with Louis is right and you guys are a great couple. I will take your advice about Sid. I just hope that he feels the same way about me. I’m glad that we’re friends now and I hope that I haven’t started a rift between you and Louis. I think he’s really cool especially for a dead guy. I’m sorry if I caused anything…I hope you don’t hate me.’
