Chaper 2: Going outside the barrier

It's been awhile since iv'e walked around by myself, so i figured that I could go around a couple of blocks and see if theres anything new, I said to myself "What could go wrong, i'm just going to walk around for a while theres nothing wrong with that..right?" So a grab one of my old backpacks and fill it up with some snacks for if i get hungry, some water, a book just incase i wanted to stop by the park and read for a bit, and a notebook.

I always take a notebook with me where ever I go because i like to write some things down or I would do random doodles of things that i see. Putting on the backpack and walking outside my door i noticed that there were less kids around playing in the street. It was a little... Odd.. did something happen overnight? Or did the other kids have something planned? I didn't know and i figured that everyone has a reason for things they do. I lock up the house and walk down my little path to the gate, as i open the gate one of the kids walked up to me and said "Hi! i'm mr. and mrs. sanchez's kid my name is Angel what's your name?" I turn towards him and see a small boy his skin a light brown wearing a t-shirt and a pair of shorts. "I'm night, pleasure to meet you angel, is there something you need?"

I start walking along the sidewalk as angel follows me "No my parents just told my to introduce myself to you if there was any problems" he said, slightly dragging his feet as if his legs were tired "Well my door is always open when i'm home perhaps another day you can hang out with me and i can give you a tour" i said softly to him "Alright, i'd like that, well i'm going to get back to playing my game see ya around night" he said as he jogged away, he seemed like a nice and good kid, it kinda put a smile on my face. This was the first time in a very long time that i interacted with a kid, the last time i talked to a kid they got shot and died in my arms.. i still looks back on that memory and think "She shouldn't have died at a young age, she could have lived and maybe made some friends with all these kids.." i continue walking on the sidewalk and pass by some old people i knew when i was younger, i smile and wave at them and continue walking. This was the most i've went outside of my barrier and not going to lie, it felt a little nice.
