Part 2

Alisha sat and waited at the bus stop with her sibblings. She was thinking to herself where her friend Monica was, usually Monica rides the bus with her but since she was late today she already expected her to be at school. The bus pulled up and the 3 entered the bus and rode quietly to the daycare. She got off the bus and walked into the kid center.

"Hey Alisha, a lil late today ain't we?" Ms. Jennifer said with a chuckle. Ms. Jennifer was the daycare director.

Alisha gave out a fake laugh, "Yes ma'am I'm sorry, I woke up a little late today".

"Your mom couldn't get them here again today?" Said Ms. Jenn.

"Nah, you know she works these crazy hours". Alisha sat and lied once again, she knew Ms. Jenn was known for calling DCF if she felt something was suspecious.

Alisha turned towards the front door of the daycare and began to walk out before Ms. Jenn had anymore questions.

Once she dropped the 2 off she had to wait on the bus again. The bus pulled up and Alisha got in and rode to school.

The bus pulled in front of Mardell High and Alisha exited. She jumped the schools fence to avoid having to go through the front office. She knew she was gonna get scolded from the administrators in the front office for always being late.

"Dinggggg!" the bell for 3rd period rung out and all the students began walking out their class.

"Wassup baby girl?!" Shouted from the crowd. Alisha knew that voice so she turned around.

"Hey Kevin" she said while blushing. Alisha had liked Kevin since Middle school and the crush never went away.

He was light skinned, a senior, had a low cut with waves, always wore fancy jewelry and clothes, played varsity football for the school plus he was built; everything Alisha liked in a dude and so did everybody at Mardell seemed like because everybody wanted him but Alisha was the only one with his attention.

"What class you headed to?" He asked.
"Mr. Hudson for math...why?" She replied

He paused and stared at her "Damn I see I can't ask you questions huh?" He smiled and let out a chuckle. "You wanna do something after school? I barley get time just to chill with ya lil' pretty self". He asked while licking his lips.

Alisha wasn't allowed to hang with boys but Kevin was just too fine to say no.

She blushed, "Yeah that sound good." She said.

"Alright i'll be in front of the shool when it's time to go, see ya later big head" he replied jokingly and walked away.

Alisha looked at the clock on the school wall next to the lockers and noticed the bell was about to ring so she began to rush to class.

She entered and noticed her friend Monica sitting in the back of the class with her headphones in.

Monica and Alisha have been friends since before they could talk. Monica was shy and quiet but she had a reputation of being a hoe. She was pretty, but she was no Alisha. She was tan-skinned, with long natural hair. She wore braces and she was slender.

Alisha rushed over to Monica and tapped her shoulder.

"Lishaaaa!" Monica screamed while removing the blasting music from her ears. "Why the fuck you wasn't at the bus stop this mornin'? I let 2 buses go by waiting on yo ass" she added.

"Girl I woke up late and my mama was trippin' this mornin'. If it wasn't for my lil brother and sister I woulda ran away a long time ago" Alisha said.

Monica could see the stress in Alisha's eyes, she stood up and hugged her. "It's gonna be alright Lish, you know you always got me".

Monica already knew what Alisha had been going through for the past 2 years, it nearly killed her to hear some of the stories Alisha tells her on the bus about her mom.

"Ladies please have a seat, let's hope I don't have to kick one of you out or separate you two today". Mr. Hudson said as he walked into the classroom.

The two looked at each other and burst out in laughter. "Let me sit down before I have to curse his old ass out" Monica said to Alicia under her breath.

Class began. Alisha was never the one to slack in school. She may come late a lot or may even skip a few classes or two but she was smart and had the potential to actually graduate unlike most the kids at Mardell.

"Dinggggg!" The bell rang and class was finally over. The two girls caught up to each other outside of the classroom.

"We catchin' the bus home together right?"
Monica asked.

Alisha looked at Monica and smiled.

"What?!" Monica asked with excitement. She knew just by the look her friend gave her that it was something good.

"Kevin wanna hang out after school so I can't today." Alisha said.

"Oooo alright then, girl you betta get it in!"
She said while laughing and doing thrusting movements with her boney hips.

Alisha started laughing, "Shut up, it wont be none of that witcho nasty ass". Alisha was fine and could practically get anybody she wanted but she was still a virgin. Not because she couldn't find someone to get with, sex was just something she wanted with the right guy.

"That's what they all say but then they get in a room and fall on they back faster than a possum playin dead." Monica said.

"Bitch I can't tell you nothing, ughhh!" Alisha said joking.

"Girl you know I'm just playin'." Monica said while laughing.

It was lunch time so the two headed to the cafeteria. This is usually the time she sees her brother. She scanned the whole room and saw him no where but she did spot his friend Sean.

"Sean!" She scream from across the room. He looked over and she began to motion him over.

He approached her, "yeah, wassup red?" He said.

"Where Corey at?" She said in a confused tone.

"I don't know, I haven't seen the nigga all day". He said.

"Alright then nevermind" Alisha replied and walked away. In the back of her mind she felt like he did know but she let it go and tried not to worry. It was unlike her brother not to show up to school. He never came to school to do work but he was always there just to get out the house. Alisha got the situation out of her mind by starting to think about her date with Kevin after school.
