I cant sleep

Taiga's POV

I hate nightmares. Sure I'd never admit to anyone that I get them, but hey im not perfect. This one wasn't one I was expecting though. Of course it had to be of my mother and father fighting before they split up. It drives me insane at how long it took them. But hey, if they never did I would have never met Ruuji.

Anyways, this one in particular had me frightened. Not getting into too much detail, my mom had blamed me as being the reason they couldn't love each other. But they had to love each other enough to have me. Its pretty stupid, but it did frighten me.

I woke up gasping for air. When my dream came back to me, I didn't feel safe alone anymore. I checked my phone to see what time it was, and sure it had to be 2:00 am. What a drag.

Hey. I never said it was gonna stop me!

I got out of bed and slipped on my slippers. I opened my window and looked at Ruuji's house right in front of me. I'm sure Yasho wouldn't mind me crashing into her house in the middle of the night. I climbed onto the railing, balancing for dear life. I almost slipped, and my heart had gone numb. I sighed with relief when I noticed I was going to be ok.

I took a deep breath, then jumped. I crashed on their balcony, making a loud noise. Not even a minute later Ruuji ran out to me, "Taiga!" he gasped, "what are you doing?!" he asked. I stood up, shaking a tiny bit, brushing off my nightgown. I fixed my hair and didn't try to meet his eyes, " I'm coming to see you, duh."

He looked from my apartment to me, "At three in the morning? What are you even doing up at 3:00 am anyways?" he questioned me. I crossed my arms, "I could ask you the same thing! You better not be cleaning, dumb mutt." He sighed, "Whatever, what do you want Taiga?"

"Nothing!" I said, my face flushing a bit, "just some company i guess, it's boring in my apartment alone." Ruuji sighed once again, "Taiga," he started to sound like a mom, " Tell me what's wrong."

"My bed is crunchy!" I argued, "There are chips everywhere!" Ruuji looked confused, "what? How? I just washed your sheets yesterday!" he argued. I shrugged, "Not my problem mongeral, just let me stay here for the night and you can fix it later." That should work! He could not say no to that!
He sighed, shaking his head, "Fine, come in, just keep it down. Inko is asleep." I raised an eyebrow, " you mean that fugly bird?" I asked. "Don't call her fugly! She is beautiful!" I scoffed, "Whatever mutt."

Ruuji then pulled out some blankets for me along with a pillow. "I hope this will do," he said, "I will work on your sheets after school, but now we need sleep." he laid them out for me, "do you need water or anything?"

"Are you trying to make me wet the bed?" I asked. I caught him off guard and his face flushed bright pink, "uh! No! I- uh-," "Whatever mutt," I replied to his nonsense, "good night." I slipped under the blankets and laid my head down on the pillow. I shut my eyes, and I'm guessing he got the memo. " 'Night Taiga," he said, laying down in his own bed.

Even though we were in different rooms, having him nearby just made it so much better. I could finally get proper sleep.
