Mason and I leave the dress shop with my newly altered dress, shoes, and bracelet. Mason was going to buy me some earrings, but I told him I wanted to wear Mom's pearl studs. I guess I over exaggerated on the cost because Mason spent just over 200 dollars. I was very happy that he didn't need to spend as much as I thought he would.
I thank him close to a million times by the time we get home. I go straight to my room and do some homework. After about five minutes I realize that I'm going to Prom alone. I grabbed my phone and called Katilina.
Three rings later the phone is picked up.
"Hello?"
It's her mom.
"Hi! This is Izabelle. May I speak to Katilina?"
"Izabelle! It's nice to hear from you. I'll had the phone over to her."
"Hello?"
"Hey, Kat!"
"Izzy! I haven't seen you for a while!"
"Yeah. Hey, I have a question for you. Are you going to Prom tomorrow?
"I don't think so. I don't have a dress or anyth- ... Wait... You hate prom. Are YOU going to prom?"
"I wasn't going to but Mason brought me dress shopping and..."
I lowered my voice here so that he would hear.
"He bought me a dress, shoes, and jewelry. I didn't want him to be sad that I didn't want it. And I love the dress so I could always wear it to church or something."
"I'm sorry Iz, I can't go find a dress at such short notice. I'd love to come but I can't just go to the store at 7:00. They'll be closed once I get there."
"That's okay. See Ya tomorrow?"
"Yeah. See you then izzy. I'm really sorry I can't come."
"No! It was silly of me to call the number get before the dance. Do you think I would look silly if I went by myself?"
Kat was quiet for a moment then said,
"No. You'll look like someone who isn't afraid of going to prom alone because she wants to have the best night of her life."
"Thanks Kat."
"Anytime."
