"What a lovely situation . . . " Dr. Franco smirks, stepping toward us with a smirk. "Wow. I never expected my star experiment to be so ignorant and stupid . . . "
"She's not stupid!" Harry growls at Franco, and I feel him tensing up.
"Shh, Harry . . . " I whisper, leaning my head on his chest. My toes are barely touching the ground, meaning he's most likely back to normal, now.
Dr. Franco chuckles, looking Harry up and down. "A fiesty one, huh?" He smirks, making Harry and I both squirm as he circles us in slow steps. "Mark this boy down. Experiment number 43E94. Take them." He waves his hand a bit and immediately, about six guards are heading toward us. Out of instinct, I snap my wings outward and flap as hard as I can, surprising myself that I can lift us off the ground.
"Alina, watch out!" Harry shouts, and I flap harder, lifting my feet so the guard can't grab me. We're going super slow, and my wings aren't taking the weight very well. They're already tired, and we're only twenty feet off of the ground.
I cry out as I feel something whistle right by my ear, but thankfully, it missed. Although, with my luck, bad things always happen after good luck. Something jabs straight into my spine, making me yelp, a net immediately wrapping around us. I wrap my wings around us as we tumble toward the ground, landing with a painful impact. Whatever that net had in it to attatch itself to me has some kind of tranquilizer in it. I can't do or feel anything.
"Alina?!" Harry cries. I realize my jacket ripped off as he puts his hands on my face, rubbing his thumbs acrost my cheeks. I stare at him through the darkness of my wings, trying to tell him to run, but I can't move a muscle.
"Aww, how sweet . . . " We're rolled over by someone kicking my wings. The only thing they can see is our knees, down. "She saved him from hitting the ground and she's known him for less than twenty four hours . . . " Franco chuckles.
"Get away! Don't touch her!" Harry shouts. Why is he being so protective? Doesn't he know what these men will do to him?!
"We'll do what we like." A different man says. I recognize his voice as Franco's assistant, Chastin. We're lifted off of the ground in the net, and then a few minutes later, we're thrown carelessly into the back of the van.
Alina! Where are you?! Nikki screams into my mind.
I reply, Take the boys and run. Do not get out of the bus. Lock the doors and tell the boys to drive you back to the city where it's safe. I'll get us out and meet you there. I nearly scream the thoughts.
Alina, you can't leave us! She cries.
And you can't get caught again. I promise, we'll get out! Shaunda and Liam are in charge. I'll see you soon. Tell them I'll get Harry back to them no matter what it takes. I tell her. She faintly confirms that she's going to listen and spread the word. I thank her, and her presence is gone.
"Alina, why aren't you answering me?!" Harry shouts, shaking me. He needs to calm down before they tranquilize him, too! "Hey! Look at me!" He cries. My eyes slowly look over at him and he sighs in relief, pulling my head up to his chest and kissing my hair.
"Hey kid, be quiet back there!" A guy shouts, opening the back door of the van.
"You tranquilized her! Freaking, make me!" He shouts. The man chuckles, stepping into the truck. Harry yelps as the man kicks him right in the crotch, then Harry yelps one more time before falling on top of me, limply. This is going to be a long ride . . .

"Alina, please wake up!" I flutter my eyes open to see Harry leaning over me. We're in my old dog cage together, which pretty much squishes us completely together. I try to stretch, but my hands and wings are bound behind my back. As are Harry's hands.
"Harry . . . How long have I been out?" I ask, frowning.
"About a day, I think . . . He just threw me in here about five minutes ago." He sighs. "My back really hurts . . . "
"Harry, turn around . . . " I order, my heart aching at the thought that they already got started. He turns around, careful not to hit the edges of the cage, but also trying not to hit me. Slowly, I twist my hands out of the ropes and when they're free, I lift up his shirt. "Oh no . . . " I yank my hand up and put it over my mouth.
"Alina, what's wrong?" He asks. I shake my head, my eyes tearing up.
"I'm so sorry. We should have just left after we saw you guys." I cry, putting his shirt back down and taking the ropes off of his wrists.
"Alina!" he grabs my shoulders and looks me in my eyes.
"Harry, we can't leave until they've finished . . . Harry . . . You're the next person on the list . . . " I cry, putting my head in my hands.
"What list?" He pulls my chin up with his thumb and two fingers.
"The Angel Experimentation list."
