Marinette smiled as Adrien passed her a note under her desk, both of their faces pinked and their eyes shining. The paper was folded, and Adrien had written her name in red ink, a heart drawn around it in bold strokes. Well, it wasn't her name exactly.

"M'lady," he whispered, their eyes locked in the moment.

Marinette shivered as their fingertips brushed. She accepted the note and watched as Adrien faced forward again, her gaze searing through the back of his head. She toyed with the paper for a moment, brushing her hand against its face, against all the promise written there.

Alya eyed her and giggled, glad her two best friends had finally gotten together. It was hard to get used to how lovey-dovey the two had become, seemingly overnight. Marinette still hadn't told her all the details, but she could wait patiently... for now.

Painstakingly unfolding the paper, Marinette lay the note flat against her desk and ducked her head to read it. Adrien was asking her on a date to the movies. She smiled brightly, catching his eye as he turned back for a moment, her small nod enough to send his heart pitter-pattering.

They walked together out of class, and she followed him to his car, allowing the Gorilla to drive her home. Marinette and Adrien sat together in the backseat, unfortunately separated by their seatbelts. Adrien nibbled at his lip, nervous. He eventually stoked up enough courage to reach over and hold Marinette's hand, and she curled her fingers over his delightedly, feeling ever so warm and wonderfully content.

As they rolled to a stop in front of the bakery, Adrien stepped outside to open Marinette's door for her. He grasped her hand until they met the front of the shop, and then pulled her closer for one, sweet moment. Marinette was breathless and giddy as she waved goodbye, knowing full well she'd be seeing him again later that night.

She felt it had been ages until they met again on her balcony, just after sunset. They had patrolled often enough before, but it had become different, this other way of being with each other.

Chat Noir landed gracefully on the railing and then all but pounced on Marinette, desperate for more of the affection he so sorely lacked at home. Every second alone now was awash with thoughts of her, of seeing her, even more so than they had been before. He couldn't hold back the tumultuous purr which resonated through his suited self as she patted his hair, running her delicate hands along his cat ears and the sharp edge of his jaw. Chat buried his head in the space between her shoulder and neck, holding her tight.

 "I missed you."

Marinette laughed softly, returning his hug. "I missed you too, kitty." She pulled back and clasped his face saying, "Time for patrol?"

He nodded, squinting his eyes against the flash of bright pink light as she transformed into Ladybug, the third quarter of their miraculous romance. Her pajamas became her classic, slim-fitted, cherry red suit with black spots — one he was well acquainted with. Ladybug swung her yoyo in a neat circle, pulling Chat tight against her waist as she swung them off her balcony and into the Parisian night.

Theirs was the kind of love which did not need words to be expressed. They each were each other, and with each other. That was all they required.
